Lukla Airport (LUA) Busy Hour

Bussy hours in this amazing, high altitude airport TENZING-HILLARY AIRPORT (LUA). Just in a couple of hours all flights were stopped because of the bad weather.

I once had a hotel room, checked in after dark, hearing a steady loud vibration caused me to look out my window. There just a few thousand feet away jets were lined up, at least 20 in line waiting their turn.

I have flown from Queenstown in New Zealand to Milford Sound . The terrain looks similar but the landing & take off that’s a different thing. Wow. However there are some videos of Australian Air Force Caribou’s (since retired) going into dirt “Strips” in Papua New Guinea that are very hairy to say the least . This is wild & dangerous flying, made safer by good pilots & a disciplined ATC system.

1:40 Give that pilot a raise. He stands over the bump before takeoff, as opposed to the rest of the pilots that speeds over that bump which can cause loss of control.

Somehow, I don't think that airport is certified by ICAO. This explains the many accidents.

Exactly! You are jealous when see someone leaving by heli )) Sometimes the weather can be bad for several days and it's the only way to get to Katmandu. Well yeah, once I took a helicopter from this place.
