People keep bashing on this video because it doesn't 'reflect' the song. Do you really think she'd be able to record herself in the nighttime atmosphere like in The Witcher? That'd be both dangerous and difficult. Especially in the woods. I think this video is beautiful and relfects the song well. Ashley Serena, you took this song to a whole new level and it is absolitely beautiful.

Thank you so much for your sweet words! ♥️ I filmed this in the early summertime, and I’m afraid where I live in the Pacific Northwest is much too green then for a ‘scary’ setting. But I do understand the concerns and critiques in the comments and am happy this game has such a passionate fan base. It’s a little hard when my ideas don’t translate well to others, but I am happy the vocals seem to be well accepted, and of course am grateful and thrilled when viewers DO like this interpretation of the song. Thank you again for your thoughtful and kind comment, it truly gave me a boost. ♥️

The reason I've seen people dislike is one of the lines. The original singer says "fearing no manner of ghouls hags and wraiths" but people sem to hear fearing ALL manner.. Well, misworded line or not, I prefer this version over the original. Plus I always hear a No in there, so maybe they just heard it wrong.

The video (much to the chagrin of everyone who hates it) has a great effect, and to me shows that for everything beautiful that we see..there is something sinister and deadly just under the surface (hence the song). Being alone, even in the sunshine in the middle of the forest is unnervingly quiet..

Wolves asleep amidst the trees Bats all a swaying in the breeze But one soul lies anxious wide awake Fearing all manner of ghouls, hags and wraiths For your dolly Polly sleep has flown Don't dare let her tremble alone For the witcher, heartless, cold Paid in coin of gold He comes he'll go leave naught behind But heartache and woe Deep, deep woe Birds are silent for the night Cows turned in as daylight dies But one soul lies anxious wide awake Fearing all manner of ghouls, hags and wraiths My dear dolly Polly shut your eyes Lie still, lie silent, utter no cries As the witcher, brave and bold Paid in coin of gold He'll chop and slice you Cut and dice you Eat you up whole Eat you whole

To a "monster" in that world, Witchers ARE the scary boogeymen, the things that hunt them mercilessly for coin. Witchers may be (feared, outcast, hated) protagonists for humans, but they are absolutely the beasts that'll slice and dice a young bruxa or siren if the price is right.
@janikamil76054 жыл бұрын
I imagine this is how the common folk see Witchers though. With still being dependent on Witchers to kill the monsters even with all the history and hate between them. It makes the Witcher who they hate and that asks for compensation before helping seem even worse than the monsters.

its becuse vampires are very sentient beings in witcher, they have their own community and civilization so witchers hunting them is like a drowner hunting human, humans are afraid of monsters and witchers are vampires monsters

When I hear singing this absolutely beautiful, haunting melody I imagine a cloaked woman sitting under a rocky overhang after asking a group of travelers if she could share the light of their fire since the night is dark and cold. As she sits, she answers any questions very cryptically and when the bard asks if she knows a good melody she sings this and the wind whispers and clouds cover the moon and the fire, while still burning, seems to dim, almost as though the light itself knows to lessen itself for the dark music being sung. This is a rough idea please take it as I have no skills in writing a full book! I really like offering ideas though and music like this is awesome inspiration! Anyone wants anymore ideas just ask me here and I'll try my best to come up with a scenario for you!
