I recently had an mri on my head. I was told everything had to come off my top half, and I had to wear paper britches. When I asked about removing my bra (cami bra, I dressed for comfort), the nurse explained that I could get burns from it. Needless to say, no burns for me! Thank you for this video, tho as it cleared up more of the "why" of gowning.

I hate, hate, hate the clothes they give you to wear, but I respect it.

Wow! That is so good to know. I have to have MRI's at least a couple times a year. I happen to have them at the Imaging Center where you work. I've always worn yoga pants and a t shirt. Now I'm very nervous. Especially since I'm having one in less than a week. Yikes.

The MRI center I had to go to most recently doesn’t even offer the option of wearing your own clothing for this reason. They require everyone to strip completely and put on scrubs.

Well, as many MRIs as I've done. I've never had that happen. I'll happily wear my gown and underwear.

I have never been able to get into an MRI machine with or without contrast in my regular clothes i was always made to put on a gown and take off every single thing i own basically

I have nickel allergy and I need to know if clothes (fabrics) has any form of metals in them 😮. This is shocking. 😳

Can a person with metal hardware in their body NEVER get an MRI? I’ve always been curious about this.

i have severe Anxiety depression and PTSD I freak out every single time i have to have an MRI worried that i have metal on me even when i don't even when the metal detectors have shown that i have no metal on me i still freak out thinking i have metal somewhere whether it be in the ivy or the stickers that are on my chest For the EKGS and what have you i have literally had panic attacks before going into an MRI machine worried that i have metal Somewhere even though the metal detectors have proven that i do not I'm pretty sure this would never happen to me

It’s when a team of: doctor, nurse, registered nurse give you medications to make you sleep but not like when you go to surgery which puts you fully out (unconscious) thus requiring an artificial airway. Commonly, a drug called propofol in a small amount will be used to temporarily make you go to sleep so you’re not able to feel pain such as during a small procedure like cardioversion or a fracture reduction commonly done in the emergency department.
