Not this time! Ambition to look good, look well-off w/o working towards a life-sustaining goal other than those superficial, outward signs of success, repeatedly damaging self-worth by repeatedly stealing other people's stuff MEETS pretty, virtuous goal-setting with a life plan featuring hard work, result-oriented ambition for a lifetime of achievement....and one decides to end it for both, effectively cancelling each other out, in one scheme of things. I have seen multiple specials on this case. A couple details I found interesting not outlined by Dr. Grande here is the size 14 shoes were taken from the store. Brittany tracked Jayna's blood around the store wearing them, then proceeded to place them back on the shelf...overconfidence was an understatement. This woman was delusional. She thought she was way smarter than she actually was. Another interesting fact is during the investigation, while doing a follow up, a detective was pulled to the side by Brittany's brother. He was confused as to how Jayna suffered such gruesome injuries and died, while Brittany was barely hurt. The brother seemed to be questioning out loud to the detective if his sister was involved. After this, he did not say anymore to the detectives and seemed to defend Brittany, but the damage was already done. I always find these types of cover ups fascinating. One person is brutally beaten, stabbed, sometimes even shot fatally while the other person just has superficial wounds and ties themselves up. You would think people would want to do a more convincing job, but then again we aren't dealing with societies best and brightest. It just goes to show you that regardless of how narcissistic or psychopathic one is, it is much more difficult to inflict pain and damage on oneself, than it is on someone else.

Obviously they can’t be criminally charged in our system but there is the Tort of Negligence, where people have a duty to act and fail to, causing injury. From their own words, in a perfect world they should be liable for negligence. If just one of them would’ve knocked on the door, opened it and asked if “everything was ok?” or even taken a minute to call the police, the lady might have survived. As a society we need to be honest about what the common denominators of all the crimes committed are, it's the pink elephant in the room that no one wants to or is afraid to address.

3:35 She was re-selling the items of course, this is strictly against store policy!! I used to do a lot contract work for a popular Drug Store... so much work they offered me an employees discount card, I was told verbally and signed an agreement, not to re-sell ANYTHING (of course!!! .. That's the STORES JOB!) Eventually the Drug Store Chain discontinued ANY and ALL employee discounts, because of a few people, like Brittany, who re-sold items, for profit.

When committing a murder/crime they say it's not only the point of no return but also to the point of commitment.... Basically you're now committed to going all the way through with the crime/murder...

Just kept escalating, poor Jayna was her ultimate victim. My only question is why Yoga wear, an easy steal? More money in luxury bags.

I like it when you discuss personality and provide professional insight. (E.g. your thoughts on fairness in WWII was very interesting.)

yes why did she have to kill this woman? theyve reported her many times. so unfortunate. and that lululemon should not have this type of reporting. turning anger to each other. weve had confrontations at hospital w those fired or didnt make it through programs. its scary how people demand a job. even if they dont qualify.

Moral of the story: Never return to work after leaving. And be very careful who you trust 😮

Such paranoia. It is very rare for such a thing to happen to someone who returns to work. Only recently I had to turn my car around when I was half way home because one of the employees had locked their keys in the building. Like the vast majority of times, it was completely uneventful.

Dr Grandes description of the suspects phycological attributes perfectly frames the mentality of some people who leverage their disadvantaged historical status to justify a materialistic reparations mentality of theft and violence against the broader community.

It's not uncommon for educated people to take on retail and/or gig work from time to time. All people do what they have to do between jobs, to save money, etc. Lots of conceivable reasons.
