• Don't throw ice cold water on an overheated dog (obviously)! When Mabel gets hot from running around, we just put cool water on her belly, chest, and paws.
• The eyedrops and eardrops were both recommended by our veterinarian. They're a preventative measure. Mabel has had an ear infection and an eye infection, but since we started using these products, she hasn't had infections. It's up to you and your vet whether you want to use these products. Mabel now gets eye drops WEEKLY, not daily.
• It's cold in my apartment. Mabel gets cold easily, so Mabel wears hoodies.

For everyone saying she’s being dramatic about the care taking of a French bulldog, she’s really not and I learned that the hard way. I wasn’t informed about everything and my frenchie was just looking rough bc they need much more care than a regular dog bc of their health issues

I can’t lie I didn’t even think this was too much maintenance, especially when compared to having a kid 😂. I keep up on grooming and my own diet so I’d make sure to do the same for my dog if I get one

I’ve got two frenchies and this is a regular thing 😂, they get wrinkles cleaned and tail pocket cleaned daily and wrinkle balm on it. Weekly I clean their ears. It’s hard work but I love them

Depends on what you feed them. Anything wheat-based, and yes, they can bring tears to the eyes. We changed to a more expensive brand of food with less cheap filler in and the condensation on the windows disappeared from one night to the next. Pleasant, and unexpected side effect: the Bulldog eats less of the more nutritious stuff so cost-wise it's really not all that much of a hike.

Usually because of what your feed them. Ours never has gas. Or if he does it’s not stinky. Don’t give them dairy. Gassy for sure. They can’t have grains or gluten. Makes gassy tummy :( we feed ours fresh fish & turkey or beef with veggies and apples & blueberries.

Hey there. I have a Frenchie. We raised him from a pup and he is now 2 1/2 years old. Both your videos have excellent information, are well presented, and are spot on. Mine is not a fan of wearing clothes but does wear a raincoat when necessary for walks. Dressing them can be bonding and play time and they are so stinking cute. Ignore the negativity. Thanks!

James, I have a new puppy Frenchie named Gatsby. I'll tell you right now that they are a very high maintenance dog, but so loving and worth it if you have the patience to put in the effort. Just know that going in. I love my little guy more than anything, but they aren't for the type of owner who doesn't have a lot of time and can't give them lots of affection and attention. I rescued a Frenchie yesterday and in 24 hours he and my Saint Bernard have a fabulous bond, playtime has to be supervised but he is truly a gorgeous boy, came from a rough home attacked by the other dogs with zero walks, he’s behind on his growth at 12 months old he is thin and very small fit his age, he is transitioning to a raw diet but he’s been so happy and calm with his wonderful walk today with his giant brother he sure has landed on his feet and we are so blessed he’s bought our Saint back to life after losing his terrier friend last year. He is fast asleep right now and he has learnt so much and so willing for the next command. He’s living his best life and what an amazing start in his new family 😍🙏🦴🤩

My frenchie swims like a champ. We practiced and made sure she can swim as my family loves to swim - So if she falls in the pool she won’t drown. The family frenchie also loves to run track and stairs with us. Of course she can overheat as it is mentioned, but she also seems to do quite well and longer than the norm of 20 mins. She a great pup going on 8 months. Thanks for the suggestions for when washing and cleaning their ears. Your frenchie looks like ours.

Super thorough, detailed, and full of kind thoughts that only a true dog-person would add! I had wanted one of these, but I have had other breeds (poodles, with their own considerations) for years; and I realize one of these is probably the correct breed for me. (PS: We never bought a single one of seven we had: All were adopted from various sources, often with AKC papers!!). The owners most often were fed up with the cost of grooming! Make sure to keep that tail pocket clean! My boy Fonzo developed an infection in his, and let's just say the cure was not fun for either of us, but now we know to clean that thing! Also to wipe off his butt sometimes. There are wipes all over the house for emergency wiping needs. Frenchies are NOT for inexperienced dog owners!

If ours gets hot we dip his paws in cool water. It's supposed to help cool them. For food, Royal Canine makes a French Bulldog food, which is shaped so they can eat it easier. Our Frenchie Charlie loves sweet potatoes, watermelon and carrots.

Alex McCann great advice. My Frencihie is a rescue. I got him at 6 months old. He has been a full time job, he had never been trained. Bonding took a while because he had been with his parents from birth. The only survivor of a litter of 6. It was a trial of love for some time. One thing I didn’t know the breed had was a very smelly digest issue. They butt puff all the time and my room smells like frabreeze and toxic dog gas. I’m trying different things to improve that. I’d like to know what is best to feed a frenchie when you don’t feed commercial products. I’ve read conflicting food reviews. I can tell every one frenchie doesn’t digest regular baker potatoes. They don’t digest starch at all. Would like a good dog video on healthy accurate food preparation..

If they'd use their brains for a second, they'd realize that all you're saying is to try to keep Frenchie's at a neutral body temp. at all times. Mabel is adorable! Great video! My son and his wife have a Frenchie that we love oh so much. My wife and I sit her for a couple of weeks a year. What a joy she is, such a loving animal! If it weren't for allergies....

Have they tried adding probiotics to her diet? We use Fish oil, organic kefir, and raw apple cider on meat and veggies. Its works wonders!! Good luck!

Great video. A lot of people arent too familiar with taking care of Fenchies. We actually feed our Bob a raw diet and he loves eating his raw diet with bones. My wife walks away when he eats his food with bones. She said when Bob eats, its something like out of the movie Saw LOL. I didnt know about the eye drops for frenchies. After watch your video I will get him eye drops.

Make sure if you decide to get a puppy to try and get one from a local shelter! Buying from pet stores usually ends up supporting puppy mills :( So just be careful and hope life goes well for you and any of your future dogs!
