Great comparison the only thing you have to keep in mind is that the apps on the lumia with slow loading time is usually win 8.1 silverlight applications that arn't native. So when the apps gets updated to native universal windows 10 apps they will boot a lot faster

The Windows 10 mobile is still under development and they haven't even hit RTM yet, so considering all that the Lumia 950 XL is doing a very fine job on everything. I love it personally. Windows hello, continuum and the camera alone beat iPhone 6S in a heartbeat.

***** Im a WP fan from the very first day it was launched. I've had over 10 WP handsets, and I stuck to the platform until early 2015 when I had had enough. I've played with the L950XL, and it's absolutely gorgeous. I still think WP/W10M is the best mobile OS out there, but the fact is it is NOT going to take off. Its too late now, and nobody cares about it, most importantly the developers. Unified apps are not going to save it either. The window of opportunity has passed, its over. 3 reboots of the OS roadmap in 5 years? Thats ridiculous. Even the WP fans are getting sick of it. In the end it doesnt matter how amazing the OS and hw is, if there are no apps/services and no industry support, there's no ecosystem. And these days, people are smart enough to know the ECOSYSTEM is what counts. Theres no point buying a Ferrari if it has no wheels, which is the exact situation WP/W10M is in. W10M should have been released final at the same time as W10. Major unified apps should have been released at the same time, and it would have got the great release it needed. But instead, development has been painfully slow, the OS is barely half finished and core functions are not working as they should be. In the mobile market of 2015, this is NOT acceptable. No excuses any fan comes up with is going to cut it. Its not about you, its about the MARKET and the MARKET's expectations.

+Mabirc for someone who works in the industry, Windows has stepped up their game. We've been testing Windows 10 Phone. They don't release an update unless it actually works. We've actually got a hold on iOS 9.2 because there is a problem with it re-installing managed apps. Doesn't sound like a big deal but trust me it is. Having said that, Apple will have an update very soon, they always do. Just saying it would be nice if they wouldn't create the problem in the first place.

At this point in the smart phone world, these types of videos are largely not necessary. Each flagship device for each different OS is going to be pretty much about the same in terms of speed. Sure the iPhone is faster in some respects that the Lumia and vice versa. Same thing for Windows versus android, android versus iPhone, etc. Where they differ is the actual OS, and what they offer beyond that. Windows Mobile OS is just more user interactive than either of the other's, and in the case of camera, hands down provides a better experience. What really makes the 950xl it the best option though of the 3 flagships (950 xl/6s +/note 5) is price and what you get for it. Yes the 950xl is still an expensive piece of hardware, but it's price is considerably less than a brand new note 5/6s+. Nevermind the fact it's the ONLY of the three that has a removable battery and expandable storage nowadays. I can deal with the so-called lack of apps if it means saving myself $150-300. I buy all my phones at full price, I do not subsidize them ever. When you consider how little the speed difference is, consider that most of the big name apps have a second-hand version on WP, and you have a way better camera, it seems to be a no-brainer to me.

Let's review why and where you are wrong in your statements above. 950xl (32 gig) + 128 gig sd card - $800 w/tax maximum (I got mine for about $760 total because I scored a deal on the SD card). iPhone 6s Plus (128 gig model) - $950 before tax and Apple Care, $1200 with that all included. Right there a shortage of storage space of 32 gigs...at a cost of $400 more. I won’t even compare Android here because they don’t even have a 128 gig model of the Note anymore. Sure you could go without the apple care but no one does because Apple's products are flawed and break easily. Let’s not forget to consider that an Apple store experience is NEVER good, they are always super busy, it takes forever, and Apple’s Modus Operandi is to replace a device rather than fix it. Every time there is a slight problem with her phone and she goes there, they just give her a new device rather than trying to rectify the situation…which is a pain because they then have to go thru the lengthy setup process all over again. Since her iPhone 4, my wife is on her 15th iPhone. She has a 6S+ (64 gig) and has already replaced it after only 2 months because with only light use she was having to charge it 3 times a day, so clearly they gave her a phone with a bum battery. That brings us to the battery. You stated only power users need a removable battery, are you kidding me? I could ask anyone I know who has a smartphone, and maybe 3 of them are “power users”, but every single one of them would complain about the battery life of their device and they wish they could have a backup battery (some can and do). Hell my brother and sister-in-law still have galaxy 5’s because they refuse to upgrade further since they removed the option. I don’t know anyone who would not jump at the chance to have a backup battery, and I have both a large family and pretty big group of friends/co-workers/acquaintances. Next we move on to your comment about the build quality. I cannot entirely disagree here, I do think the new iPhones and some of the top Android devices are pretty sharp, but I actually like the look of the 950xl, even more with the white leather Mozo backplate replacement. It’s super sharp. This is entirely up to personal opinion though. Your comments about Continuum just prove how little you really know/understand about it. For starters, it’s still a fledgling idea that right now I cannot deny is kind of gimmicky at this point. However the potential of where it CAN and WILL go is beyond incredible. The fact that Microsoft is working on a device with an Intel processor means it will be the first phone in existence to run FULL programs, not apps! Combine that with a mini keyboard-mouse, and you can rule out a need for a desktop/laptop for a lot of users (especially those who travel for work). There is conceivably a day in the near future (3-4 years) where desktop computers and to a point, laptops become far less necessary and Continuum is the reason that can and will happen. I won’t disagree that WP10 is unstable. However, the current build on the 950/950xl is smooth as butter. Sure there are the occasional glitches/bugs, but guess what, that is true on every OS. My wife complains nearly daily about something bugging out on her precious iPhone. I have to use an Android device for work, and that thing is ridiculously slow and buggy (Galaxy 6S). Finally your comments about the app gap bewilder me. Can you honestly list even 10 of the bigger name apps out there that are so completely crucial to your life that you can sit there and justify the $3-400 extra cost of just the device? I highly doubt you can. At least 80% of the biggest apps out there are on Windows Phone, will be in the near future, or have a similar app that is just as good or better. While the Android app bridge has been put on hold, the iPhone app bridge is still happening and will only make things move along faster. So in conclusion, since you don’t know word one about what you are talking about Admiral Douche Nozzle, please keep your comments to yourself.

+Biswajit Lenka You don't have to be in the insider program to get the update. However, there is a bug that is stopping it from getting to some 950 and 950XL phones. Microsoft is working on a fix. However, if you cannot wait, simply do a hard reset of your phone and it will get the update. I had to reset my phone to get it. The unified mailbox alone made it worth it for me.

I'm still using a Nokia 808 Pureview and 1020 running Windows 10 as my everyday phones. I take the most incredible photos with these cameras. I was at a tech conference in Paris recently, I got the strangest looks while using my 808. Can't you afford a better phone I kept getting asked. Sure, but why, it does everything that I need a phone to do. Anyway, I'm interested in getting the 950 XL, though I keep hearing that the OS is buggy as all hell. about the multitasking: Lumias have software limitations, they are only allowed to keep 8 apps in the memory, and in the multitasking view, for easier app switching, but the app processes can run if you allow them, even if they are not there in the multitasking menu, and the apps will open faster than when you close it and then open it again. also the WiFi issue will probably be fixed, I don't have it with my 640

What do you have 2G? Apps definitely do not open that slow on the 950 XL. The 950 XL has a better processor. I did the test with my 950 XL and my 950 xl beat all the speed tests.

It's noticeable the performance drop between the 6s Plus and the 6s (I assume it's only because of the extra pixels) Also, the current windows 10 mobile version it's not worthy to be called a RTM version (although it is, which is a shame), and I hope its performances and stability (and UI) will be improved before March. I really do hope, because I really really like the Start Screen.

Between 12:13 and 12:30 Lumia's OIS is terrible whereas iPhone's is very smooth.

Love my Lumia but it's really time to close those biggest app gaps.....so many years later. Facebook and messenger apps are ported finally but super buggy and slow at launch. Spotify also super buggy.

I'm in-love with the Lumia's camera, but I'm not highly sold on anything else regarding the phone. If I got this, I know I'd regret it when a new cool app is released in iOS or Android but not for Windows. I've experienced this second hand ;-; But the camera tho~~~ugh!

I wish Lumia had been a winner bad that's the truth. Of course you can always say that W10Mobile is not finished yet, but that's not explanation for me (The phone is on the market right now and that's it, no room for excuses ).

this is ridiculous you can never compare devices by boot unless they have some OS.and also as you can see on twitch app you can also forget speed testing it that way aswell, what you need is a benchmark to test it.

Comparing speed by opening apps is ridiculous.. Here's why? Each app is made by a different developer so one app on a different operating system will run better or smoother than on another OS in a different device. It's like comparing a woman walking with a little boy in a wheelchair. If going downhill, the boy in the wheelchair will win, if walking up a road, the outcome is different but does that prove anything - nothing.

It shows the speed you'll get with each device... if devs don't care to optimize apps for a certain OS, there's nothing you can do about that.

from trying both phone my self iPhone is much better as the iPhone camera doesn't lie in color quality as the Lumia does, the Lumia adds contrast and color intensity to every picture you take so pretty much said what you take is gonna look twice as good but in reality is not it bothers me that nobody understands that and make fun of iPhone I like both I'm not a hater but think about and for the video the picture of the flower take the live feature next time that's why it was blurry so for that Lumia took points which it wasn't fair comparison just in my opinion iPhone takes the points

at the Modern Combat 5 test, it had to compile the files on the Lumia. Seemed as if it was the first time you ran it on the phone, not really a fair comparison :P
