Came to Cad as PR and it was a different experience back then. Started from scratch, found free resources for newcomers and slowly immersed in the culture. Living situation has changed a lot now pero kaya pa rin! All of us have our inspiring stories to tell. Very grateful for all the opportunities. Go for gold, mga kabayan!

I arrived in Canada in 2017, from the bottom tlaga ako nagstart. From integration program, board exam, french exam hanggang sa makuha ko ang full license ko dito sa Quebec. Nagpursue din ako ng masteral at natapos ko while working. Sa awa ng Diyos may sariling bahay at sasakyan na din kmi. I’m now working in one of the top hospitals in north america. Canada gave us a chance to improve our lives, a golden opportunity we would always be grateful for.❤

"same same" sabi nga mga Singporean , 14 years in singapore earning SGD 90K(with very little tax) as an engineer. Lumipat kami ng Canada 2019, hirap magsimula ulit. naging bagger sa patahian, naging stock inventory clerk sa Canadian superstore, naging utusan sa shop, pinag loloan mower . Sa awa naman ng Dyos at pagsusumikap at talagang ng focus sa goal. Ngayung Engineer na ulit earning 80K per year, kaso malaki ang tax. My wife also has her own story to tell ..hahaha., ngayun Aerospace technologist na sya (in tagalog, lahat tayo dito may kanya kanyang kwento ng paghihirap)

For Filipinos who are thinking of coming to Canada, it must be said that there will be tradeoffs that you may or may not be willing to accept. Being in Canada means working hard, making many sacrifices, working to build relationships, being mindful of your habits and behavior, integrating into the Canadian fold, appreciating circumstances, and maintaining within you the best of what it is being a Filipino. It is not easy, and may not be as expected, and there is always good and bad. Always keep a positive mindset, be patient, and trust in the process and in God.

Malaking bagay na you were able to live and work in other countries kasi mas “adaptable” ka. Also, nakapag shed ka na ng “ego” and mas grounded ka. Kaya yung iba na doubtful sa sinasabi ng guest… living in Singapore is “stressful” in itself having worked there for 7 years kaya I find Canada as somewhat “laid-back” (i lived in a city next to the guest)
