Will Lumin allow you to build/draw up your own digital home design?

Hi Kelly, how many circuits does the Lumin handle.
@SignatureSolar4 ай бұрын
1 Lumin Panel can handle 12 circuits @ 30 Amps or 6 circuits @ 60 Amps, or would be a mixture of the number of 30 amp and 60 amp circuits needed with a max of 12 per panel.

For a typical 200A service, are there recommended guidelines for which circuits to manage? The obvious answer might be the biggest consumers, but some of those can be managed manually. For example, during an outage, just don't run the oven or the dryer. With a limited number of circuits available in the LSP, maybe some of the automated circuits would be better, like the water heater or heat pump? Does the new code require that even with a smart panel, the backup needs to be able to supply the un-managed loads?

We recommend physically managing them; this could easily be accomplished with a Smart breaker panel system such as Lumen, but typically we say just turn off your heaviest loads, as the inverter can only supply 50A of off-grid power and surge for 5 - 10 min (depending on the size of the surge)

Hi Kelly, kindly confirm if it can be intergrated with EG4 Indoor Lithium Battery.
@SignatureSolar4 ай бұрын
Currently, SOC integrates with Enphase, Tesla, and SolarEdge but Lumin is working to integrate with EG4 batteries very soon. The Lumin Panel will otherwise work with any batteries, it just won't integrate the State of Charge control.

they are now compatible with EG4.

If this sits between the inverter and the critical loads panel, how does it determine if grid is down to shutdown high usage loads?
@SignatureSolar4 ай бұрын
It comes with CTs that will connect to it that will determine when the grid goes down.
@cgutowski4714 ай бұрын
@@SignatureSolar thanks. This is exactly what I’m looking for. If grid is down, need a way to turn off my mini splits so they don’t pull the battery down.

From what your describing it sounds like a transfer switch. Lumin is not the first company to offer something like this as Anker recently released their smart home panel. Both of them sound nice in theory but for what I am guessing is going to be a rather high price point for me I need more than just words. You are nice to listen to but please show more of the product.

The Anker smart panel will not shut off individual breakers depending draw when on back up power.

@@danielsoutdoors im so past this. I have moved on to something else. The Lumin in my opinion as a big waste of money just like the ones from anker. The only one so far I have seen that really makes sense to me is the ecoflow home panel 2. And before you say it no I aint endorsing them. I have a hard time transferring all those circuits to a panel that could possibly fail or need replacement and then what. Have someone come in to rush to reverse everything.. You see where I am going here

@@davidbailey3289 What I don’t like about the Ecoflow panel2 is they limit you to 30amps per square. What about the SPAN panel?
@davidbailey3289Ай бұрын
@@danielsoutdoors I haven't really dug much into span but already I am seeing the limited ability when it comes to the battery system I would use. Furthermore I still see my big problem not being discussed. What happens should their panel fail. Is it a grid go down type of situation even if I am off grid? I am all for the technology but i need someone to address my concerns.
