What I rely like about this short is that, despite this being a silent film it tells you the plot immediately. leaving the plot twist to be more emotional instead of just goking at "THERE HUMAN".

I think it's a cycle if you really think about it, a time loop of sorts, somewhat like the reverse flash being reset, it'll just restart all over again, but the glimmer of hope is a nice touch indeed.

I kind of had a slow realization (or possibly just incorrect conclusion) that the monsters aren't themselves corrupters... that's just a function of the realm they inhabit. They sometimes destroy the lanterns, yes, but it's out of clumsiness and brute strength more than anything. They all just want to hold the light to be human again.

Wolf AZA You missed the point of the lantern. If you don't hold it, you will become a dark creature which is can't handle the light and can't enter the door. The video already explant that! When he dropped the lantern and she pick it up, he end up become a dark creature and she become human again. And the point is, that's his lantern, not her. That's his chance, his luck, something that for once per person only. So she had to returned it and help him successfully escaped. Then he could comeback with another lantern and help her later. And if he don't comeback, she still have a change when another star fell again. She was lost the light once and her light gone forever, no one got it. That's why she know she can't be selfish or his light may disappear like herself in the past. Those creature aren't evil, they are all people lost their light and have to live in the dark. They can only escaped if they got lucky.

Wolf AZA They never lost control. Remember when she lost the lantern at beginning of video? She end up with sadness and 2 other creatures just look at another and then leave... later she didn't attack him and just picked up the lantern. Those creature just being selfish and want to escape by themself. The lantern represents for something that can't be shared, and the light out side the door is a symbol of success in life due to holding the lantern. It's like one ticket per seat in theater.

I freaking love the meaning behind this animation! The boy has a light (a personality) that shines brighter than the rest. Everybody wants to be like him but are trying to take his light with greed and envy. The girl was greedy and took his light away BUT gave it back as if to apologize for taking what was his. Awesome job! I love it! This speaks to me as I live with greedy jelouse people daily and all I'm trying to do is be nice to them :/

So the whole Place is filled with shadow monsters and Then a light comes down. Night sky and if one touches it, they turn into a human and it gets incised in a lamp. Send the remaining shadow monsters, try. To get them and. If the lamp breaks, they turn back into a shadow monster that I'm guessing is called a lumin. Is then the cycle repeats
