Any show that doesn’t feel like a shoehorned Disney IP commercial is a win in my book. Yes, the IP’s still there but at least in a tasteful manner. The ending sequence is VERY EPCOT and instead of feeling like I’m being spoon fed “The Disney Brand”, it felt like a strong, human message. What EPCOT’s supposed to be.

This show is full of pyrotechnics and is designed much better for viewing from all locations around the lagoon. Really enjoyed the sound track and storyline. Nice rising pyrotechnics tower at the end like illustrations featured. Great job imagineers!! Go see it in person!

I think this show is a perfect mix of everything we have seen from Disney. They managed to use barges in the same style as illuminations, and still incorporate all the lighting and fountains from harmonious barges. The songs for the most part worked well, and though it’s not illuminations, and nothing will ever be like illuminations, I think the imagineers and technical crew managed to create a great show that suits EPCOT. I love it so far, though I have a feeling we will receive minor updates every now and then

While this is a good show - and a step in the right direction (keeping the lagoon clear during the day), I wish the show had a theme, about the countries in the world showcase, about the meaning of the front of the park and why the pavilions are there, working together, illuminations did a better "worlds fair" vibe that epcot was built for. This just sounds like a lot of singing but doesn't mean much to me... I want to think about the show when I am walking away, that what epcot is to me, something that inspired me as a young person. it doesn't inspire me to do anything, to be better, to build the future.. People who went to late 80s epcot know what im talking about.I really miss it....

Great balance between IP Music and Original Music. Lighting and pyro were amazing. No horrible barges during the day. I think Disney finally got this right. Nothing will ever replace Illuminations. Unpopular Opinion… I liked Harmonious better. 🤷🏼‍♀️ I didn’t like the barges during the day but the show Harmonious put on made my jaw drop and I loved how they used the water projections. This new show seems boring compared to Harmonious. Hopefully it’s better in person and just doesn’t translate on video.

This is a massive improvement and step forward. It makes you feel sonething. The only thing I would do to improve it would be to utilize the lighting on Spaceship Earth more to compliment the show. Sometimes its part of the show and sometimes its not. It should be always be apart of the show

@@kevinfraser7815 Video will never do it justice. I saw it the first night and my reaction was "I don't love it, but I don't hate it either...... I like it and want to see it again". I've since seen it online a couple of times and again in person last night. It's growing on me and while it doesn't match Illuminations: ROE for me, it is FAR superior to Harmonious. After my first viewing of Harmonious, my reaction was "WTF did I just watch?". Watched it again a couple of nights later and felt the same. I saw it maybe 6 times across its run and my view of it grew more negative each time.

Very well done! I do appreciate the intertwining of IP music with a sort of story here. Its not just the usual random best hits we often get from these shows. Admittedly I was hoping for a bit more Epcot influence, however, that opening, with each Pavilion saying Welcome in their respective language was perfect! Also, the use of the call and response Frozen 2 thing was a very nice touch. I think If Disney had wanted to really impress the Epcot fans they would have ended with We Go On, which of course was from Illuminations. That would've honestly been the perfect way to meld together old and new. Overall, a definite improvement.

I like the vibes it offers, it reminds me of illuminations, but it’s not it… I think Disney took the feedback given from harmonious and applied it well, but did we need a NEW show? Could we have just made an Illuminations 2.0 (Same score but change the technology to make it more modern) or even kept harmonious but made the barges move in & out instead? This show is made to pull on the heart strings of what I assume to be the Disney OG’s while entertaining the newer generations… but it’s missing something. Idk what, but that “wow” factor isn’t there right now. Maybe think about being back the jet skis that had the kites? That was a “wow” factor during the first original show of Epcot forever 7/10 in my books, but who knows, it may grow on me

Thank you for filming. My mom and me both felt this show was beautiful visually in person. I wanted to rewatch it because actually this show has a ton of pyrotechnics. We actually enjoyed it more than the fireworks at MK. This was a HUGE improvement over Harmonious. While I wish there was more orchestra and less vocalists, the theme was strong, the show was visually beautiful, and it was an improvement over Harmonious, which jumped from idea to idea with no story. Harmonious also bothered us visually, however. I think if you're looking at this show from an artistic perspective you'll be pleased; at least it is original and tries.

If you are viewing this show also be assured they took your concerns about visibility seriously. You can see this show from nearly any unobstructed view in World Showcase like Illuminations. The fountains are larger in scale than Illuminations and don't have the eye sores of Harmonious (and way, way more pyro per minute). Win win in my book. I actually commented earlier I didn't like the show. I didn't watch it in person at that time. The show is grander in scale than you can see on camera. I did not change this way with Harmonious (I didn't like it in person or on camera before). My point is definitely see this show and decide for yourself. We felt the show was beautiful artistically in person. While we didn't like some of the direction of the music, that is subjective, and not everyone will feel that way. We liked that the music was original, however. Overall, beautiful show. We liked it more than Happily Ever After. Not that it's a comparison. That is just our 100% honest thoughts. This show is visually prettier than HEA.

I hope it was better in person than on video. I'm a huge Illuminations fan, and it's no Illuminations. But I've only seen this 2-dimensional version...although awesome quality...THANK YOU! Was the music powerful?...Doesn't appear so...I'll wait to see what others think. Maybe it'll grow on me. Why aren't the World Showcase buildings showcased anymore?...been there, done that, I know...but it was always very emotional. I still can't wait to see it in person. Video doesn't do it justice. Better in person and the second in person viewing was better than the first. It's most definitely growing on me. No, it's no Illuminations, but it's so much better than Harmonious (in my opinion). Unlike Harmonious, you should be fine around the entire World Showcase. That said, it's better from the back. They work Spaceship Earth into the show. I viewed it last night from the balcony in Japan. Great spot.

It sounds like the "heartbeat symphony" song was meant to start and end the show, yet the reprise of the song got pushed into the front of the show as well. I absolutely love the song but it felt odd having a reprise of it so early in the show. I think it would've been better wrapping it up. Other than that I liked it but still feels a bit rushed with the tech. They still could have add some media akin to old fantasmic at tokyo disney sea with the big inflatable bubbles I think that would've looked pretty neat.

Reminds me of harmonious but if the barges screens were broken and the middle mist screen was also broken. It needs something a little more visual currently it just feels like a normal fireworks show. Theres been rumors of bringing the Drone show over from overseas, this is where they should put it.

Oof, the score leaves a lot to be desired. The lack of permanent screens is nice, and the pyro looks good, but overall this feels dull and stagnant. I think more kinetic energy on the lagoon would've helped (pyro and safety permitting)

I like that it seems to have symmetrical views-so you could pretty much have a decent view anywhere around the WS lagoon. That was a major drawback with Harmonious-there were only a couple of good places to view.

I still love it how they keep downgrading from illuminations, harmonious, to whatever the heck I watched last night. For almost half the show pretty much nothing was happening. And when they’re was something happening it was very light fireworks or it was the finale.

Appreciate you getting the audio of me being threatened on video. FYI not everyone using the ADA section is there because of being in a wheelchair. Although I wouldn't be totally adverse to kneeing for someone who showed up much later than me could see clearer in a chair my conditions prevented that. Be kind everyone not every special need is visible. :) Oh & show was good I'd swap a few songs so we don't have repeats in multi shows because something like "Show Yourself" can be just as powerful as "Into The Unknown". We'll always have IPs inserted it's just using them in different/unique ways WITH original tracks that will make it work.

Am I the only one distracted by the helicopters (multiple) flying the the background for MOST of the show? Starting a little before timestamp 1:45 and kept circling until timestamp 12:20 . Unless it was Disney filming, but I'm sure they would have gotten footage long before then. It was quite distracting.

Well I have to say, the first 5 minutes were really what I was hoping for. Until they lapsed into the Magic Kingdom formula of just playing Disney movie music. They almost had me, you’re so close Epcot! Save the original music / Disney movie music / and then back to original music for the Magic Kingdom. That’s what Happily Ever After is. And that doesn’t belong in Epcot. You’re SO CLOSE with this show!! The visuals were beautiful and the music was too before the typical lazy recent Epcot attempt to just throw IP music into its show and try and call it an exciting new show.

I love it- PLEASE, WDWNT team, can somebody find the name of the woman who does the Luminous narration? She is spectacular and all I've found are the musicians, singers, directors names etc. Voiceover talent is so unappreciated so often, yet without her voice and powerful read, this show would be hollow. I watched the show tonight and when I came back home I played this video muted with IllumiNations music in the background. in my humble opinion Disney failed to replace IllumiNations. They had a perfect track, all was needed is a pyro and lights upgrades.

The pyro, fountain, and lighting are impressive. There’s just a bizarre juxtaposition between the music and subject matter. I cannot think of anything more depressing than celebrating world culture and exploring the human condition through songs from cartoons, even when those same movies do make good points about humanity (like Toy Story 2). And I say this as someone who loves animation and WDW.

I don’t appreciate the same group of songs taken directly from HEA, “ Just because they work in that show. Too much narration - I feel like they are trying to sell the idea of US way too hard. It’s slow in the middle and took a weird turn when they say we just end up dying. It doesn’t feel like a party - and will probably still skip fireworks at Epcot to see HEA when I go.

Need to see it in person to hear the music better; the mixing sounds a bit off through this video. The opening song seems like it needs some more fine tuning. Felt like it should have been a duet or growing ensemble. Felt like they were going for "One Small Voice" by Sesame Street/Kenny Loggins but didn't have the same impact as that one does for me.

@@briandonegan8480 they might but each of those sets are custom metalwork built into the barges to arrange the pyro in that fashion, so I’m not sure I see them making 60 more of those (10 each for each of the 6 barges likely)

French, Chinese, and English being sung on top of one another is… kind of too much for one’s ear’s to be able to decipher. I was there tonight. I needed there to be MORE energy in this show. The feeling of uniting the countries and feeling inspired to move forward together as one will always be the perfect message. Sorry 🤷‍♂️ “We Go On” is the perfect theme for EPCOT and they never should have gotten rid of it. At the 9 minute mark, the energy in the show PLUMMETS and it doesn’t come back. After a long day in the park, I was already tired, but this was putting me to sleep. If I were a kid, I would have fallen asleep after the You’ve Got A Friend in Me/Never Had A Friend Like Me medley. Then the show gets SAD. Like… talking about losing friends and being alone? Big ole bucket of bummer balls. And once again, the different languages on top of one another sounds like NONSENSE. Not a symphony, as the song implies lol. It’s like they’re speaking gibberish to the tune of When She Loved Me. I rolled my eyes once the song from Frozen 2 began. What a nothing burger of a song that clearly was trying to bask in the light of “Let It Go” but never became as memorable or original. HarmonioUS was gawdy, but it utilized the space of World Showcase Lagoon far better. The moving parts, screens, and holograms gave you visuals to go with the audio. The globe from Illuminations even got referenced at the end of HarmonioUS. Illuminations had this beautiful globe in the center of the lagoon for their finale that projected images of all of US… from all around the world. Then opened to a single flame, uniting all the flames around World Showcase Lagoon as one. I say it’s time to refurbish the globe, make it bigger maybe? And put it in the center of the lagoon. Better yet? Drain the entire World Showcase Lagoon and install, like… a record breaking number of water fountain cannons for the show. That entire lagoon should be RAISED into the AIR for their fireworks show at the end of the night like California Adventure does with World of Color

I agree that this show definitely needs more fountains around, sinilar to WOC. If they could just install an array of fountains that rises when needed and sinks when not.

@@user-oo7dw4qw4b then they wouldn’t need to bring in and out barges at ALL. It’s WILD that they feel so attached to the concept of making giant metallic barges simply for the purpose of having lights and fountains. Just use tower spotlights like they use in Fantasmic facing toward the center of the lagoon, like 4 to 6 should do it. Then, again, drain. that. lagoooooon! Put so many FREAKIN fountains in, that the Bellagio fountains will simply CRUMBLE to dust once they hear what Disney has done. “*gasp* HOW many fountains?!* And they generate a circular WAVE of water around the Lagoon to unite all of the countries through the magic of song and water and lights and color? I’m bones.”

@@IcicleM I understand the need for barges since it's needed for certain applications like complex vertical shapes, fireworks, etc. The current barges are fine since they are movable, but they really should've made it bigger in scale while retaining that mobility. Maybe they could even apply elements from Believe! Sea of Dreams from TDS to make the lagoon more full aside from having retractable fountains built into the lagoon.

Disney will never build another lagoon show like WOC. Storing all that tech an infrastructure IN the water must make for a maintenance nightmare. That’s why Harmonious had the barges. They wanted a WOC style show with mist screens and fountains and projections and lasers, but with all the tech above the water instead of on and in the water. They solved one problem but created another

It's so much better than Harmonious!!! Yet, even with the much better fireworks, light, and water show, it still doesn’t have the impact Illuminations had. Maybe it was because Illuminations had only original music in it. I get they are putting more Disney IP's in Epcot and adding songs from Disney IP's fits, but having nothing but original songs in Illuminations made it so much different.

Not sure how I feel. I don’t think a video doesn’t justice. Hopefully able to see it next year in person. Feels better than Harmonious though. I can say that. I don’t I’ll always miss Illuminations.

I'm kinda on Harmonious' side on this one. The storyline here wasn't strong enough, even tho Harmonious didn't really have a storyline, musically it goes from up to down and back up, in this track tho the tempo is so unfixed. The transitions are so forced that the feeling of harmony isn't really there. Harmonious on the other hand really could bring everything together musically. A good example would be Believe! Sea of Dreams in tokyo disney sea, they had less than 10 themes and it was all tied together flawlessly. This piece was just a song then to another song, even the Harmonious intro had a good mashup of tracks. I would say the environmental usage in Luminous is the good thing to me, just like tokyo disney sea they used the buildings around the lagoon, but that could be more emphasized. Also, when somebody loved me is such a good segway into act 3, i was thinking when it would come but finally it's here, even better a mashup with remember me, a good call back to hong kong's momentous act 3 opening. I do understand epcot should be a different park than other disney parks, and the focus is more on humans than on characters, but a little more creativity on the storyline could really bring the message out better. Lighting wise this is textbook level, fountains i find a little boring tho, but i definitely love to see new pyro techniques! overall i'd rank this a little under harmonious, but of course i wont get a chance to see it in person that mightve affected my opinion a little.
