What a great video! That father speech was awesome. But that lens...wow. I'm in the boat you were in before M43. I have the D750 and 1.8G 85mm Nikon lens as my primary portrait lens, along with the 50mm 1.8G when I have less space. For my GX85, considering the 42.5mm 1.7, Sigma 56mm 1.4, and the 15mm 1.7 Panasonic or 16mm 1.4 Sigma. Just unsure which to get and debating weight versus large aperture.

The 42.5 1.7 is a sweet lens. I thought I would get it but then I came across the Nocticron for about 500USD from a lovely lady who wasn't wanting to sell it to just anyone, but wanted to find someone who would love it like she had. I was lucky to be that person. I do love it. I had to drive a long way to get it, but I love everything about it except its size and I wish it could focus as closely as the 1.7. Most people have the 1.7, and wish they had the 1.2. I have the 1.2, and wish I had the 1.7 as well, but I can't justify having the two, although one day, if I find one at a bargain price, and it is close enough to drive to...

What are your thoughts on the continuing evolution of photography on mobile devices? I'm getting back into traditional photography but have never have stayed far from it since mobile phones now have all but decimated the traditional consumer camera industry, which is now a wholly niche market. I started digital photography way back when they first came to light in the early 2ks and bought a number of cameras before getting my first pro setup with the Olympus E-3 to go with my several high-end lenses digital zuiko lenses shooting Four Thirds with my prosumer E-300.. I was a big fan of the fourthirds format but like took a turn and I got out of photography right around the time microfourthirds was getting traction. I sold my MFT setup as it was not keeping up with the new full frame sensors that were coming out on all the other camera systems. Still I couldn't part with my Four Thirds setup as it was already more camera than I'd ever need. . Fast forward a decade later and here I am getting back into photography. My Four thirds gear all sit in boxes outdated, though still very usable with the Lumix ft to mft adapter I bought way back when I was playing with the new Oly Pen cameras. Anyway I digress (perhaps more rambling), but I'm finding my Samsung S21+ Ultra camera to take as good shots on a daily basis and in many cases better than my old, severely outdated 10MP setup. I recently picked up a Lumix GX85. My FT glass is massive and totally not suitable for this tiny body, so I've been wanting to pick up new proper MFT lenses to use with it. The 12-32 kit lens that came with the GX85 is merely ok but not good enough to justify carrying around over just whipping out my mobile phone, with all of its computational photography powers. So what should I get?I am starting with the Olympus 17mm F1.8..

Hi! I have the Lumix G80 with the kit lens 12-60mm that you have too. I would like to buy a second lens to shoot videos and I'm thinking in the 42.5mm lens. Do you think that it is a good option? Thank you and nice video!!

Hey guys, how is it called (if there is a word for that) that blurriness when shooting video and you move the camera? For example at 7:59 and at 8:06 I have seen that in other videos, but on other ones there is non of that. How can we avoid that when shooting videos? The image is beautiful, but that effect bothers me a little.

Did you heard about the xiaomi yi 42.5 mm 1.7 lens, it was made for the yi m1 which was garbage, but this lens was interesting, you can find it on Aliexpress for 40-50 dollars. Of course it will be not as good as this one but, for the price it's interesting enough !

The edit is nice, and for a vlog style video with a bit of focus on the lens, this would be perfectly fine. But honestly, considering this being a review where much of the footage is more vlog related than actually used to say what or how the lens is, it's much more a waste of time. Yes it's beautiful that she got married and that you wanted to make a cute scene with the baby pictures, but this isn't the time for it. A review is a review, not a vlog, and I'm sick of youtubers making reviews that are actually vlogs. Dislike.
