LUMIX GH6 - KOBE SANNOMIYA [神戸三宮] in the EVENING・JAPAN

Kobe Sannomiya is a lively retail area with department stores along Center-Gai Shopping Street and around Sannomiya Station. An underground shopping area with restaurants draws commuters to sushi bars and Kobe beef eateries. Brightly lit high-rises are packed with small pubs and music clubs.
I used the Laowa 6mm f2 lens on my Lumix GH6 to shoot the footage for this video handheld. Unfortunately, the IBIS causes a wobbling effect in some of the footage because of this extreme superwide field of view. The best solution would be to turn off the IBIS and use a tripod, which of course would be much more cumbersome than the light run and gun style that I prefer.

The wobble was not too bad considering you had no gimbal. I think we have to accept some compromise if we are not a full-fledged camera crew with tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of equipment and the time to test multiple shots. Did you have fun with the 6mm? I enjoyed watching!

Thanks for your comment. If I just take static shots, then it's fine, However, as soon as I start panning or walking, the IBIS brings about the wobbles. The best way to use wide-angle lenses is on a gimbal or tripod with the IBIS turned off. It was an experiment to see how it would go handheld.
