Great video ! Thanks for making me discover the menu that allows me to deactivate the flash even if it is on, I didn't know about it, really useful also for restoring the exposure preview without flash ! I'm also waiting to know how to buy the lumix t-shirt like yours!

This was a great talk on flashes and the tech side for beginners but could we please get a video like this with a human subject in the frame and go over a real world setting including which autofocus types to use when firing flash? I use a Godox system as well (Xpro and 2 AD600s ) and the autofocus seems to have a mind of its own, no matter what setting I have on or whether the Modelling light is on or not. It seems to be in focus the entire time and then as soon as I press the shutter, it changes it's mind lol. I've tried shutter af on and off, every autofocus setting, and I've given up and just shoot manual focus and back button focus. A real world walk through would be amazing as I may be missing something on the Godox communication side of things. I've had this same issue with the S1, S5ii and S5iix. I understand it may be user error, but to be honest I never have a problem with natural light photography. S5IIX hit rate is phenomenal, until a flash is plugged in.

Not as bad as yours but I also noticed a drop in autofocus performance with the flash active, so there might be something real to analyze, I have to check if the trigger firmwares are updated

@@SSProg Yeah I'd love to hear from Sean or any one at Lumix on how to get the best results out of these otherwise amazing cameras. My trigger is up to date, I don't have the markii but after using other camera brands in the past with the same godox trigger (specific for said brand) I think there's something to either analyze or improve on through firmware or a new build.

I am working on a pt.2 of working with Flash that will incorporate actually using the flashes with various subjects, including people. Coordinating a subject is the challenging part, but I've got a plan to cover these topics ASAP! - Sean

Is there any way to use auto iso with on camera or of camera flash? When you set auto iso it always stay at 100 iso..
@quagmire321able21 күн бұрын
yup... exactly the question I was going to ask. And when is Panasonic/Lumix going to remove to auto-switch to ISO 100 "feature"? :-P

Yes, this threw me for a loop. I never saw that on other systems I've used.
@quagmire321able17 күн бұрын
@@unloadedone yup, this and the fact that I can't really be sure if the AF is good enough for my work are the 2 biggest reasons I am not sure if I can switch to Panny S as my main camera system.

Serious bug in S5IIX : Photos get corrupted when captured with bluetooth on or Gps tagging set to on. Need to be fixed urgently.

I am having problems with location logging (GPS) on my S5m2X when I link to Lumix sync. The white balance is wrong on the raw files the camera can not view the jpg picture . No location recoded. My GH5 works fine. iPhone used.

I don’t care about the ttl. As a professional thinking on leave Canon completely (I already use GH4, 2 GH6 and considering G 9II) I already use Elinchrom strobes and I can’t trigger them. Any suggestions? I have used Godox and the quality of the light and the color isn’t the best. Thanks.

Please note:- we have a serious problem with Lumix S5II cameras while using any brand flashes. Shutter sync lag, unbalanced TTL reading. We tested with all flashes nearly in three different bodies. This is really frustrating for an event photographer.

“Do the research before you buy a flash for Lumix?" Isn't us watching this video supposed to offer this information? That's the main thing we need before any of the other information? Do you have a list somewhere of compatible flashes? You glossed over it and only mentioned Olympus protocol?
@jepgambardella331720 күн бұрын
Maybe photography isnt for you if searching for compatible flashes is too demanding task to complete
