¿Lumix flashes? Where?

Great video ! Thanks for making me discover the menu that allows me to deactivate the flash even if it is on, I didn't know about it, really useful also for restoring the exposure preview without flash ! I'm also waiting to know how to buy the lumix t-shirt like yours!

This was a great talk on flashes and the tech side for beginners but could we please get a video like this with a human subject in the frame and go over a real world setting including which autofocus types to use when firing flash? I use a Godox system as well (Xpro and 2 AD600s ) and the autofocus seems to have a mind of its own, no matter what setting I have on or whether the Modelling light is on or not. It seems to be in focus the entire time and then as soon as I press the shutter, it changes it's mind lol. I've tried shutter af on and off, every autofocus setting, and I've given up and just shoot manual focus and back button focus. A real world walk through would be amazing as I may be missing something on the Godox communication side of things. I've had this same issue with the S1, S5ii and S5iix. I understand it may be user error, but to be honest I never have a problem with natural light photography. S5IIX hit rate is phenomenal, until a flash is plugged in.

Not as bad as yours but I also noticed a drop in autofocus performance with the flash active, so there might be something real to analyze, I have to check if the trigger firmwares are updated
@BrendonKPadjasekКүн бұрын
@@SSProg Yeah I'd love to hear from Sean or any one at Lumix on how to get the best results out of these otherwise amazing cameras. My trigger is up to date, I don't have the markii but after using other camera brands in the past with the same godox trigger (specific for said brand) I think there's something to either analyze or improve on through firmware or a new build.

I have a few requests. Hopefully they see them and consider if they are cool or not. 1. I wish for Lumix cameras MFT or FF to be able to connect to wireless follow focus systems. Imagine having a Tilta follow focus that can connect to the body wirelessly and rack focus on electronic lenses. It can give you hard stops since it knows electronically where the stops are, and so many other features. So futuristic and at the same time already late to the party, but the party is still going on. 2. A modern set of electronic primes for MFT and video. All same filter size, design and specs. Like the full frame S series. 3. Setting custom WB should give the ability to show the values of WB that it detected. 4. The ability to store more metadata in video files. I find it archaic that in a digital world of post production you can't find out the initial settings of the camera and lens without having assistants to write down stuff. The reason is VFX and post production. 3D tracking, lens based FX and some times accidental bumps on dials makes you only wonder what has changed and makes you try to tackle issues by eye. 5. The ability to lock the dials. I did bump the shutter angle only to find it out in the next take. Either electronically to ignore their rotation or physically just like the mode button that pushes down and locks.

No one cares about Arri Log except for about 300 people in the industry. I'm a panasonic user and I ONLY use Lumix cameras (currently) but let's face it. Unless you own seriously good denoising software, the GH7 is a useless camera for filming anything indoors, say....in a house.....at anything above F 3.0. Too noisy. Lumix still does not offer a camera that can film full frame at 4k60p. That's not only embarassing for Lumix as a company, it's a professional humiliation, imo. If Lumix does not announce an S1Hii in the first half of 2025, I'm moving to Sony.

Hi, you should add some kind of rating(separate categories for creative/natural)+search+categories in the app for finding luts. Its cool but its already hard to decide what looks good without using it in multiple conditions and that takes time.

The battery was completely discharged (even though the switch was still on OFF). There's a strange thing with the S5II (the latest firmware was loaded) - I had it charged to the max and turned it off. The next day after turning it on, the camera does not work. This happened to me for the first time during my entire photographic adventure, also with other systems. Even if I forgot to turn off the main power switch, the device went into "sleep" mode and did not discharge.

Wish list camera update? I got one.... gx9 with better EVF and usb-c. Don't need better video specs, photo dominated so DFD is good enough. S9 is nice but no EVF and you can't beat m43 for lens size vs performance.

Does anybody know when the new Leica Monochrome photo style that is now available on the S5M2 will be ‘recognised’ by Lightroom Classic for raw processing. I’ve contacted Adobe and they say that Panasonic LUMIX have to notify them of the new profile, any ideas? Thanks

Since I can't ask when a new GM or GX camera is coming, he he... I'd love to have an adapter to be able to use S series lenses on the G9II that way for users that have both formats to be able to adapt down if needed. P.S. The real time LUT feature on the G9II has made me leave my Sony A7R III at home a lot more because it so much fun to use and try different looks in the field.

Please add wired connection support to the "Lumix Sync" or "Lumix Lab" app to improve connection stability. Also, please fix the "AF scope point" functionality for PC tethering. Currently, this feature doesn't work when I connect to my computer using "Lumix Tether" software, and reliable autofocus is crucial for my still photography. I'd like an added "exposure simulation" feature to smoothly preview exposure while shooting stills when changing settings. The current constant preview isn't sufficient, especially when slowing the shutter speed; the live view becomes a slow, messy jumble. This isn't an issue with cameras from other manufacturers. Additionally, Lumix should collaborate with third-party applications like Adobe or Capture One to allow direct integration with PC tethering, bypassing the "Lumix Tether" application. This would reduce latency when importing images into these applications for studio photography workflow control.

Do more for flash photography. As customers and users of Lumix S5IIX, we rely too much on Godox accessories in our part of the world. If Godox doesn't produce flashes, we have no other choices. I know it's not your headache but some types of photography depend on third-party accessories. If Lumix ecosystem is weak, ....

I used to have a much longer list of small, easy to do in software, improvements I would like to see. The GH5-II and GH6 had them done more or less completely. Right now, I only have two points on my list: 1. Waveform in stills mode 2. pre-buffer for video, especially slow motion.

While shooting long exposure on Lumix with constant preview on its one laggy mess. this is something mentioned on forums already for years by many people. Last time I loaned a Nikon from a friend that doesn't have that problem. It shows how the exposure of the photo is without the effect of the long shutter time. So when dialing up to 20-30 seconds in the dark the screens shows immediately the exposure on that shutter time. I guess this won't be next level math to make it more useful ?. Wish you all good days.
@Photo-N-Pursuit8 күн бұрын
I agree.
@jiggyb218 күн бұрын
This is the single reason I have commented on these live streams for the last year. The answer has been very clear; the philosophy that lumix has chosen is one where they prioritize the “effect” of the selected shutter as opposed to every single other manufacturer that prioritizes the final exposure in term of light gathering. Other manufacturers achieve this by essentially boosting the iso behind the scenes. As I’ve said, dozens of times on the streams for my use case, where I shoot lots of half sec to 1 sec exposures in poorly lit rooms, one after the other, the cameras are unusable. I always applaud Lumix for being a little different and that’s why I like them, it’s time to make a change to this. Sean’s stance is that he shoots more traditionally and doesn’t use the feature so it’s a nonissue.
@Photo-N-Pursuit7 күн бұрын
@@jiggyb21 But Sean isn't a customer. 😁 High time Lumix loosened up a bit, and focused on building cameras that cater to wide variety of photography styles/needs
@jiggyb217 күн бұрын
@@Photo-N-Pursuit sean handles all the internet questions like a pro. The reason I’ve kept my S5II is because I respect the company and the fact they do these live streams. When I called out Sean I meant more “his canned answer”. I think Sean wants normal long exposure live view handled the same way we all do.
@thanhtung7677 күн бұрын
@@jiggyb21 Since there's already a live view composite mode, the constant preview mode should be changed to exposure preview, exposure simulation, live view effect, or something similar. The constant preview is quite frustrating when using slow shutter speeds; with a flash on the hotshoe, you can't preview the resulting lighting-you have to repeatedly turn the flash on and off, which is inconvenient. Additionally, Lumix should collaborate with third-party applications like Adobe or Capture One to allow direct integration with PC tethering, bypassing the "Lumix Tether" application. This would reduce latency when importing images into these applications for studio photography workflow control.
