Regarding stabilization: are you saying you enable both the lens IS and the IBIS, but don't enable the feature that links the two? And that combination works well with Canon glass?

hi, I saw that you put a v-mount can we load the lumix while filming?
@niclasericsson
@niclasericsson 2 жыл бұрын
You can ( I do). Any USB-C will charge it while the camera is switched off. But, if you want to charge while filming the USB needs to be able to supply 9 volts at 3amps. I found only one solution for this - Tether Tools Onsite D-tap to USB adapter. It does the job but is a bit tricky to mount to the rig due to its round shape.
@LowellProductions
@LowellProductions 2 жыл бұрын
Hey Vic, @niclas is correct about the usb-c charger. Basically the camera will not charge as fast as it is burning through battery. I have really enjoyed the vmount battery route as with a 90w vmount battery I can literally power the S5 for amost a full 8hr day shooting. If you are looking for a super simple vmount option I have been thinking of buying the core powerbase battery that has two d-tap and 2-usb inputs and it adapts to the bottom of your camera and can simultanously be mounted to a camera tripod. Great question sir. Cheers. bhpho.to/3kp0IKd

@@LowellProductions I own a Core Powerbase and was considering using it for the Panasonic S5 as well! I also have a Black Magic Digital Assist that I'd want to power using the other d-tap connection. However, I'm extremely paranoid about frying either the camera or the monitor... would that be a concern with the Powerbase, do you think? I'm just absolutely clueless when it comes to voltage stuff. Might be a stupid question. Anyway, great video and nice S5 setup!

Hi! I have a question that I can't seem to find an answer to. Partly because my lack of experience in the professional camera realm and partly because of the lack of information out there. I want to buy a Lumix S5 and I also need a lens for it. I want to film super wide angle at 4k60 ( so the image will be cropped ) and I am looking for a lens that will give me roughly the same image as an iPhone 11/12/13 on the ultra wide camera in video mode ( iPhone crops in ultra wide video mode ) and from what I understand the focal length of the ultra wide on the iPhone is 13mm ( in photo mode ). What lens should I buy for the S5 ( preferably prime ) for this effect aka iPhone ultra wide video mode ( 13mm cropped ). Thanks 😐

Panasonic just released an 18mm Lumix native lens that is an f1.8 that might be your best option, but the 16-35mm lumix glass could work as well but its rather pricey. hopefully that helps you out and cheers to owning the S5.

Speed is key when doing live event coverage. The only down side is that this is not meant for gimbal. You have to be well aware of that before rigging it up like this. Thanks for the video, I enjoyed watching your setup.
@LowellProductions
@LowellProductions 2 жыл бұрын
Truth @MrHeng I tend to actually just use my gh5 for gimbal shots because of what you mentioned, I can sometimes quickly get the S5 broken down to the body only, so that I can go onto the gimbal but sometimes there is just not enough time so having my gh5 just chilling and ready to go on the gimbal has been my solution. Cheers to your comment Sir

Hi Trey and Cool Setup! I have the same Tilta Cage for the S5. Will you be adding any side handles (ARRI/Rosette Styled) and do you find the Shinobi better than the Ninja V? Thanks for your time and explanation in showing us your set up =D Enjoy your weekend.
@LowellProductions
@LowellProductions 2 жыл бұрын
Hey Justin, love to hear that you are an S5 shooter. As for handles at this point I don't plan to buy any. But I could see a situation in the future where I buy a handle that is used for focus pulling but at this point I am very happy with my current setup. As for the Shinobi vs Ninja V, I should have just bought the Ninja V because its only like $50 more and includes some extra goodies and specs. I think both are gonna really perform the same.

@@LowellProductions Hello and yes I have 3 of them haha yea that's cool and I find it's helpful for focus pulling and general handling of the system and I think everyone just has their own way of what feels best for them. Yes true and you can always come to the Ninja side haha

@LowellProductions
@LowellProductions 2 жыл бұрын
Hey Fredrik, to be honest I rarely use the Af unless I'm doing photography or using my Lumix 20-60mm. With native glass the AF is useable for video but I find with non-native glass AF is hard to go with/is not that reliable. Cheers sir.

@@LowellProductions Same here. I don't find lumix glass usable for tracking in video though, and i find that once it loses focus, its no use waiting for it. Shot is over, end shot, focus, shoot again.

Questions: 1- What V mount battery is that? 2- How is the v mount connected to the camera? D tap or ac cable or usb cable 3- How is the monitor connected too?
@LowellProductions
@LowellProductions 2 жыл бұрын
Hey Peter, 1. Its just a knock off v-mount battery but for the price I recommend getting a neewer V-mount for the price 2. I use a smallrig v-mount plate and run d-tap power via a power-rig S5 cable 3. the monitor is just micro hdmi to hdmi Cheers sir
