Nice video, thank you! The fact that the super slow motion video from the S5 is “only” in 1080p bothered me a bit at the beginning but I’ve found that it looks fantastic when upscaled to 4K with a good software.
@BernardBertrand3 жыл бұрын
Thank you ! Yes , it looks pretty nice indeed. What software are you using to upscale to 4K ?
@lyyfe68259 ай бұрын
Hey great content as usual, do you recommend 1080p for 4k for the lumix s5 , because I am finding that the 1080p look more cinematic to me for shot films , skin tones are smoother , the 4k may be a little 2 sharp , was your recommendations .
@BernardBertrand9 ай бұрын
Thank you for your comment, hum ... good question, I do like the 4K sharpness, when using fast lenses , then with a short depth of field , I do not find the image beeing too sharp. Maybe you should make so testing and find the right balance. But yes, I consider the 1080p to be, still , a nice size so I am not a "only 4k " advocate neither .

LOL , beautiful response, I appreciate it , I use cannon fd,s vintage lens , 50mm and 24mm and the vivitar 28mm. so I guess I will have to do some more testing , I would love for you to look at my work , but I wont sent a link here , but I can look at my page and see what I am doing with the camara with my last post , respect .

I love this brother , i have a sony a7s2 , and shoot manually , so i understand everything your saying on the technical end, now I just got my s5 , and the only thing i need now are some good glass, i am thinking about getting some affordable fd lenes, however i know the limitations that brings to the auto focus system but i am not working about that , i have investing in a new lidar autofocus system to deal with that , would u approve of the fd lens to move forward and what lens where you using here ? Also what external monitor would you recommend , i have a freeworld , but it not getting any signal from the s5, Respect !!! . By the way do you have a online master class i can pay for to watch , being that i am not in the United States , I have the same Nisi ND filter

Bonjour. D'avance merci

Very informative content and great production! I've been using Sony for sometime. Will have to look into Panasonic's line for an upgrade. The lumix looks really good.

@@BernardBertrand Can we say that the S1 and S5 are identical? (for video specs, the S1 is even better with 4k60fps 10bit) I'm so undecided wich one to buy! (I don't mind the bigger body)

This looks awesome. Can you please tell us what was the aperture and ISO settings too? I own the S5 and whenever I set it to 180 shutter angle vs shutter speed - 1/50 for 25FPS - the clip seems dimmer. Is this normal?
@jphoto7582 Жыл бұрын
I want to have audio but nobody addresses that the S5 doesn't record audio in slow motion. Does anybody know a solution to have audio sync?
@BernardBertrand Жыл бұрын
Not all but SOME of the slowmotion does not work with audio and AF, when selecting the frame rate it is still a " variable frame rate " basis , and depending the frame rate you'll loose the audio, it always been like that, since the Variable frame rate on the GH4 back then.

@@AnimePixel well I would not advice to use the variable ND with a polarising filter , as it would get in conflict with it I believe .

I find even 150fps is still decent. The detail is there. only issue is when shooting wide scene you can see moire or aliasing. but for tight shot and shallow dof, it is totally fine.

Hi one question. Does the camera crop the footage when you shoot in 100/120/180fps?
@jojos-yt-adventures2 жыл бұрын
Hey hi, im about to switch from sony a7iii to the S5, looking around youtube in these days willing to reach always more info - am I understanding right that Panasonic only shoots slowmotion in S&Q mode? so the slowmo is already applied in camera? always? or is it like on sony? (never touched S&Q on sony thats why im asking - I usually slow down a 100fps file to 25% later in the timeline where i want only ) for example if i want than to make a speed ramp later in the edit, on panasonic the process would be reverse to the one I do on sony right? and slowmo comes without audio always...
@BernardBertrand2 жыл бұрын
Hi , yes, the slowmo with the S&Q is without audio but at 100fps the AF still work , and it works really well, when stepping into faster slowmo you'll loose the AF but ... no big deal. I then find the 100fps to be a sweet spot . And the quality is really impressive. And right, if you want it to turn it back to 25fps you'll have to do it in post . ;-)
@jojos-yt-adventures2 жыл бұрын
@@BernardBertrand thanks but I can't understand if on the S5 ANY type of slow motion is usable ONLY inside the S&Q mode, it is not right? Got this doubt since all of the reviews i saw people were talking about slowmo only inside S&Q mode but never outside of that switch 😅

@UCbv3YAFWatIPf53vwpor40w no, if you go to the normal recording qualtiy and get the 50 or 60fps then it is with audio , af and playing back at 50 or 60
