There is another park near the Lumphini. You can walk from Lumphini via the bridge, it is newly opened, a lot more gorgeous than Lumphini Park. It is called Benjakitti Park.

I remember this park, it’s still very beautiful. I spent a few hours here when I visited Bangkok. Glad you’re enjoying your new adventures! I loved Thailand, but the extreme heat and humidity were deal breakers for me in terms of living there.

Wow! A Peaceful Oasis in the Metropolis of Bangkok

I lived in Bangkok for 3 years working for JUSMAGThai which is a 5 min walk from Witthayu Rd and N Sathon Rd intersection. Mentioned b/c retired military can go to the bar and even get a APO Box for letters only small stuff but Not for boxes. They have a nurse (local) who understands all things medical for military/Tricare if you need support. Used many times for our family. They use to have a dentist- Doc Graham - but retired so not sure if they replaced him. Just show military Id at front gate. Want to watch Super Bowl? Watch at bar. Just ask when you go. Great atmosphere. Next time you’re near Lumphini pk, try Polo Fried Chicken which is Issan style Thai the best. Ordered for guests every time and was a major hit. Will not go wrong. If you want more recommendations, let me know.

Hi Tyrone, thanks so much for this. I became very familiar with that intersection and its underpass when I tried to find my way from the MRT station to the park. Are there any water or monitor lizards in the parks in the US? Now I believe they have probably become the stars of this park.

i think monitor lizards in Lumpini park smaller than in Dusit Zoo ( permanently closed)
