I speak Ilocano, a language used in Northern Philippines and we also say Dua for Number 2 and Lima for Number 5 like in Indonesian. 4 and 6 also sounds similar, we say uppat for 4 and inem for 6.

Yeah! In PH History class we we were told that humans who lived during Ice Age in neighboring countries crossed the land bridge to PH. Those countries were Malaysia and Indonesia (correct me if im wrong, fellow Filipinos). The bridge was destroyed due to the melting of ice. Our language is a mix of Malay/Indo and Spanish. 😊

yup we do! but some, though same words, they are different in meaning. example : bawang in phils is garlic, sibuyas is onion. in indonesia, garlic is bawang puti, onion is bawang merah right? 🙂 kecap in indo is toyo or soy sauce. ketchup in the phils is saus tomat. 🙂 i used to work in Solo,Indonesia and learned the language. but since i no longer speak Bahasa here in the Phils, saya sudah lupa banyak kata. 😭

I learned about this dish called lumpia in a webcomic with Flipino characters and was curious to know how it was made. Wait, you guys also called Garlic as "Bawang" and Bean Sprouts as "Toge"? I didn't realize how close our language are :) I have to replay it a couple of time just to make sure I hear it right. And also when Mama Lulu said Salt as "Asin", I'm smiling because in my language it's mean Salty. Or when she said "What a waste" as "sayang" when using too much oil for deep frying. Sweet is "Matanis" while in our language sweet is "manis" Greetings for my fellow ASEAN ^^/ ------ Someone corrected me that sweet is "matamis" not "matanis". It's so true that every Filipino mama has her own version of recipes. My mother in law, Juanita FlorCruz, put soy bean sprouts in her Lumpia FlorCruz. Honestly - I LOVE them so much better than regular bean sprouts - really gives that extra nutty crunch when you bite into them. Always fun watching cooking with your mom!🌺

Mama lulu made it look so easy. I got inspired making Embutido from your last video. I used the tancha-tancha method, it turns out really good. I was really proud of myself :) Iwill try this next time for sure. P.s. I prefer the english (Oliver) and Tagalog (mama lulu) convo like on TikTok. They sound more natural na kulitan and pacute.

Napakasarap nyang pakinggan Nanay na nanay, just like my mom. Tingin palang at itsura masarap na . Lulutuin ko ito. Salamat po
