Where we live when the elderly died they throw the pets in the street my husband literally had a deaf toothless beautiful Persian cat walk up to him one day. Now she'd been out there while she was Skin and Bones but luckily it had been winter so there wasn't a bunch of birds in her coat yet she's just dirty. We figured out going back using the vet it was the lady down the street had finally passed away and I knew she had a cat and someone had just well open the door and let it out when they emptied the house? I'm sure the cat went back quite often to realize there was no one home or new renters because I had seen there were new people living there. We took Miss Kitty in how to taken care of by the vet to make sure we knew everything she had renal failure on top of everything else and that's where the vet thought why she got dumped not that she had all the other problems with because he would be expensive to care for with the renal failure. If you had taken care of her when she got it earlier at this point there wasn't much that could be done so we just fed her as best we could with. Food to make sure that she stayed new healthy happy hydrated she had her own bed in front of the window and our own little box if she wanted to go too bad in that instead if it was a chilly night and she gains nine months out of it. She wasn't on the street. She was brushed, coddled and carried around. She knew she was loved. All animals deserve that happy ending.

people need to make plans for their animals if they get sick or die. be sure to get your Power of atty for Health and let your relatives know what you want to do with your pets in the end. and then you have to GIVE it to your trusted relative who lives nearby. so sad. for people that don't have relatives, the aspca should take care of this for them or another humane organization
@valiantsfelinesmccarty6678
@valiantsfelinesmccarty6678 3 жыл бұрын
@@jmdenison yes my husband and I are animal rescuers. He had a large colony of abandoned pets that lived on the property his company has a manufacturing plant on it's been there for probably 50-60 years he inherited the animals that were there when he moved up in his position and people retired. That got us started and from there expanded we probably placed over a hundred 50 kittens I have them all written down and about 30 adults. Dogs that I have also came out of it all small small enough to live in the cats Colony they all ate cat food and were the type of dog that they didn't smell like a dog and had non allergenic fur so the cats. They were cat because of their size and accepted them. Unfortunately new management where my husband work has work for over 34 years I hate cats with a passion and ordered that they be removed within 30 days or they would be exterminated. Luckily the group that he was working with to do TNR worked with him to get all of the animals trapped except for a few who were new and just too frightened they were all readjusted lovingly and what we call affection therapy processes and place within that time. And mostly assisted living facilities these facilities believe in the use of especially cats to help in the aid of keeping their residents healthy. As there is no more Colony we quit rescuing there but we rescue seniors we see at the shelter and if they can be placed we do but a lot of them have emotional or physical problems due to the death of their owner or the abandonment due to old age and poor health. We have two of them that literally were on their Deathbed if we had not taken them that day they would have died because we went straight to the veterinarian and gave the medication they were missing. The first one ended up becoming my really good pal and lived extra 3 years where he almost died the night we got him. He was so distressed over the loss of his owner and the person who has said they would take care of him had locked him in the bathroom for months didn't give him his medicine and he went from a healthy 8lb to a 4 and a half pound cat I had never seen the stripe on the back of a cat sitting on the side of the cat. he even went with me down to my store in the last days of his life just so he wouldn't be left behind. the other one could not even stand when we got him he look like a dragon or Griffin as he was such skin and bones that he looked like something that would come out of a movie set all gray Halo I didn't know if he was even going to make it but he needed medicine that's the pounds could not provide we got it into him and he's been a wonderful companion for the last 2 years. Adopting a senior pet or helping them get well so they can go on to a better home is so rewarding it's heartbreaking that they may not have a long time to be with you but it's rewarding like the veterinarian and I agreed you want to get past that broken part of them where they lost their trust in humanity where they don't know if humans really care at all. We work instead to bring them back to where they know they are loved unconditionally that it's okay that they're old and they can't see or maybe they have to take medicine and it's a bit of a challenge to get it down. but it is wonderful to see their Consciousness change and their attitude become that of a happy cat where they start playing, talking, and start being the loving vibrant being they were before they lost their trust in us.

The most beautiful vet in the world, Chris is caring, loving to all animals. My heart skips a beat every time I see Chris. I hope one day to meet him but we live in two different worlds. His job is so valuable ❤ Would like to write with him as he means a lot even if I do not know him.

Tim, your mate must have nerves of steel. You sir, have nerves of steel. Dr Andrew, you look like your grandmother, bless your kindness, Dr Chris, Dr Lisa, you are amazing. I so wish we had you folks here in Alaska, but compared to where you live, you'd be bored. What an amazing group you are!

I have an Australian Shepherd that we got from the pound, when we got her her canine teeth were completely worn down her fur was extremely matted and she was quite underweight but has been the sweetest dog since the minute we got her very glad to say most all her problems are now fixed her fur still a bit matted but way better than when we first got her

J d I can see why Chris would be ready to focus totality on being a vet and his personal life. I’m sure the show took up an extraordinary amount of his time. He did an excellent job though and I will always enjoy watching the older videos. I enjoy the new ones too.

Ok, the excitement in the reptile park owner at seeing those baby snakes, there’s the right man for the job right there, you can tell this isn’t a money making business for him, he loves those animals, you KNOW they’ll have the best care at that zoo, I’d love to visit!!!

If i had the spare money I would LOVE to do what Denise does. I gave my mom a dog I got from someone who "didn't have time for her" and spend a good 2 hours taking off probably her weight in matted hair, you could tell she immediately felt better. My dream job since I was a kid was to be a vet

A number of years ago, my sister used to work at a small zoo. The show started talks with the zoo to have Dr Chris visit the zoo and film an episode there. However, one of the demands was that the zoo management had to produce an injured/sick animal for him to treat and give the impression that their on-call vet couldn't treat it. When the owners of the zoo explained they didn't have any sick or injured animals at that time, the producers stopped all talks about filming there. And in fact, news started spreading around the zoo industry that while having Bondi Vet film at a zoo would increase the publicity for the zoo, because Dr Chris wasn't trained to treat exotic animals he would often cause the animal to take longer to recover or even make the condition worse.
