I cut knotty spruce like that all the time. There’s so many branches the loggers get lazy when trimming them circular saw can take a little more beating especially with the carbide sawbits. So it does better than your little bandsaw blade. But we still get uneven cuts depending on feed rate and sharpness

I think you will find once dry an planned out you will wish they were thicker. Most slabs should be 10 or 12 quarter. 2 inch slab you will be lucky to get a 1 1/4 thick. With shrinking twisting and cupping. Good luck.

the 2" should be 2" thing is an adjustment, you move the site up or down to fix that. Sawdust exhaust yea but I check sawdust to determine if my speed is correct so there is that. Also the muffler, and this isn't just woodmizer, woodland Mills too, put a real muffler on these things so we don't need hearing protection. A shame to waste what could be a very nice grain piece. On a real mill, we could cut that whole thing in less than 10 minutes with two 48 inch circular blades, over and under, powered by 250 horsepower CAT diesel.
