Hey, just FYI, when describing the cant on the mill, it helps to use North, South, East, and West, to describe the sides of the cant (as viewed from the sawmill head end. Just makes it simpler. It’s kind of like when spotting an off road vehicle and telling the driver which way to turn. It gets confusing, so saying turn driver or turn passenger makes it clear from any direction that the spotter is standing. Anyway, nice big log there!

Mushrooms grow in low light areas with moisture OR high humidity. So you need to brighten the garage and get circulation. In my shed I got tired of them so I dug out 6” or so of the topsoil put down some small wire mesh, landscape fabric, then spread 6” of crushed unwashed limestone. On the other one cause of the lawnmower, I put in 4” of crushed unwashed limestone, compacted the heck out of it and wetting it, between compactions then put down fabric and 3” of crushed unwashed limestone and then topped it with bags of mortar with added Portland cement. Then dry compacted the top layer for a bit then wet it gently. Got a semi hard surface that still drained water, but no more mushrooms and added feature the chipmunks moved away..
