Would love to see a video tour of the boat, showing how it is rigged, where the centreboard is, how you camp out etc.

Interesting waterways. I’m moving back to south east Queensland in the near future. I’ll be checking that out. Great spot for small boat sailing. Nice boat btw.

Thank you! Yes the southern bay is perfect for small boats. Or if you don't have a boat you can now get 50c ferry fares so it's cheap to visit on foot.

Hi Jason. Thanks for the wonderful (albeit vicarious) cruise! A novice's question for you: I note that there is no jib/genoa, and I wonder why. Cheers!
@jasonstork9606 Жыл бұрын
Yeah the mast is set very far forward so there is no jib. It's a Cat rig. If it had a jib in front of the mainsail it was have heaps of lee helm.

Lovely little boat. Should give you many years of pleasure. Wind all over the shop. The joys of inland water sailing😅. For downwind sailing, try to heal the boat to windward to bring the coe over the clr.

Thanks for the tip! I'll give that a go.

Beauty; who is Barry B the builder? I am interested in getting more information. Could it be rigged as a sloop?
@jasonstork9606 Жыл бұрын
Hi Mirabai, I'm afraid Barrie is a local member of the wooden boat association and not a professional boat builder. He built the boat for himself but then had to part with her due to health reasons. I just posted a boat tour video if that helps.
@jasonstork9606 Жыл бұрын
A sloop rig would not be suitable because the mast would need to be further aft and that would interfere with the cabin quite a bit.

nice looking boat do you know if plans are available in AUS
@jasonstork9606 Жыл бұрын
Hi there, unfortunately the plans were never documented. The designer created the timber molds onto which the lapstrake was held during construction.

What is the designers name and design name? Didn't catch the name.
@Unbundle1973 Жыл бұрын
per description - designed by Jim Inglis, built by "Barrie B"
@jasonstork9606 Жыл бұрын
Jim Inglis is a local boat designer, mostly larger yachts but he designed this hull for himself and Luna is the 3rd hull made from those molds which are now held by the local Wooden Boat Association.

where can i buy the plans for her
@jasonstork960611 ай бұрын
Sorry Terry but it's not documented in plans. The yacht designer may have done sketches but the only the timber molds still exist at the Wooden Boat Association here in Brisbane. Once he built his own hull he donated the molds and two others were built. I'd love to 3D scan her lines and have them documented but it's beyond my skills.
