I'm no longer using UA DSP / Luna, but the 15% Luna improvement + the UADx native improvement = BIG improvement. Well done UA.

I think it just goes to show just how good the Rosetta 2 layer works and how efficient these CPUs are. To me the difference is mostly in the response-time of Luna when using it. Things like opening the program, opening projects and (most importantly) the tactile feel when using the program is way better.

LUNA was noticeably faster with session opening, which was a nice bonus. Minor improvement to render time. Yes, Rosetta is still really efficient!

How much plugins and vst instruments can M1 handle till it gives out? I mean on Luna at 48k. I was thinking about adding one Mac mini in my setup specifically for music production and arrangement. I have an iMac 2020 that i currently use with Apollo X16 and the DAW I use is Luna and Logic. It would be great if you could share some track counts that it can handle.

Great question! Obviously, it'll depend on what's being used, but I'll look at the possibility of doing a test like.

@@MattHepworth let’s assume it’s a pop production or a scoring project and it’s got like instances of serum, Kontakt, Superior Drums, synth like ANA2, along with some audio tracks and a lots of BUS like (couple of high end verbs & Delays, separate instrument buses, vocals, backing vox with neve summing and ATR 102 on all. Being processed with plugins from UAD, Waves, Fab filter, Slate Digital, Plug-in alliance or any other developer. Any typical commercial production you would find. If you can build a project with a length of like 16-32 bars. Just like a real word production. It would be very interesting. I think a lot of people looking for something like this would be very interested.

I'm not sure how soon we'll see a Windows release, unfortunately. UA has committed to Spark/UADx for Windows this fall, but I don't recall seeing anything LUNA related.
