I feel bad for these innocent people! I can't believe the park didn't care about the safety of rides! The people in charge of the ride should've evacuated the riders through the maze of corridors inside. God bless the innocent victims!🙏 Some had a whole life ahead of them.

It depends where you go. Some countries have much stricter security laws than others. I don’t know about the 70s, but today in Germany rides like that have smoke detectors and very clear and visible neon signs pointing to the emergency exits, and those people would most likely have found their way out in time. The parks are usually safe here if you follow the rules and it is more likely to have a car accident than a rollercoaster accident. I wouldn’t go to a park in China or something though
@genesisknight9948
@genesisknight9948 Жыл бұрын
The thing is that most people don't know that the ride they go on could end up failing. No one ever wants to assume that. They plan on riding the ride and getting off the ride alive and intact, but unfortunately (most of the times it seems like its due to undertrained employees) that isn't always the case and families and friends are torn apart. Like you could go on an old rickety roller coaster that seems like its 5 seconds from collapsing and come out perfectly fine with no accidents where you could go on this brand new fancy roller coaster and all of a sudden something happens that causes a serious accident. Basically, you don't know what to expect from amusement parks. All we can really do is hope everything is up to code and the employee's are properly trained.

I would love to know where you obtained the footage of the incident from? I watched the documentary and various videos, perused many photos etc, and have never seen actual video footage of the cleanup or interiors of the original ride. I simply couldn't find it online. Kudos for this ! 🙌 I have always been fascinated by this tragedy. The documentary was also fantastic.

Good coverage, it would be better if you specified the ride correctly in your titles (I think this has been said before in a prior video). When you say a rollercoaster that burned people alive - I instantly go to thinking something like the mummy at universal studios (Orlando’s version); which has never had an issue before but it’s just my train of thought.. When all it was, was a dark ride - like the fire in the dark ride at six flags great adventure . It’s just better if you’re accurate in the beginning so people are coming in for the proper story. Otherwise great job again with details!

Actually, experts determined that the park did the right thing by keeping the train running rather than stopping it. The nature of the ride was such that stopping it would have cost many more lives. The only lives lost were those who left the ride. It was truly tragic, but there is great suspicion that it was arson and that the investigation was a coverup. I heard the investigation has reopened and is ongoing, but that may well be old or inaccurate information. I don’t remember where I heard it.

even so the train carriages that came out were ON FIRE. and one of the boys who survived while the rest of his friends died, was actually saved by a gentleman who jumped OFF his carriage and exited the ride on foot at the same time that the boy and his friends were entering the ride. So you're wrong to say that the only lives lost were those who left the ride. There were patrons who survived because they left the ride on foot and warned the ride staff that there was a fire inside.

The ghost train wasn’t a roller coaster. The roller coaster at Luna Park was called The Big Dipper. The ghost train was a kids’ ride, no hills, just a train through a haunted house. This is still talked about in Sydney in whispered tones.
