Luna Park in Sydney, Australia have announced that 9 NEW RIDES will be opening at the park in 2021! In this video I share details on this huge $30 Million investment by the park. This includes the first Intamin Hot Racer, a single rail coaster with 2 launches and 2 inversions! This new investment will also include the addition of a variety of other thrill and family rides!

Luna park has been my main "theme park" to go to since I was little and have a huge facelift from where it is now it's incredible!

Used to visit Luna Park in the 1960s and 70s as a child. It’s so integral to Sydney’s identity in the minds of multiple generations of children and their parents. Our favourite rides back then were the Rotor, Ghost Train, Wild Mouse, Big-Dipper, Dodgems and the entire Coney Island… Great memories, awesome to hear this news!

The old Arrow big dipper is relocated to Dreamworld and now operates as Hot Wheels Sidewinder. It rides great with the new Vekoma trains. Looking forward to riding the new big dipper.

Amazing addition to the park and I was so surprised there was a new Intamin Hot Racer so quick after announcing the project itself. It has only been months since the Hot Racer was revealed and I was thinking 2022/23 maybe at the least, so it is lovely there's a Hot Racer in 2021!

Hi Shawn, although i now live in the UK, i lived in Sydney, Australia, for 20 years. This is great news for Luna Park, it has needed some investment, and new rides for years. The new coaster looks great. I've visited, Seaworld, Dreamworld, and WB Movieworld, in Queensland, some great rides, & shows, at those parks.

As a Brit currently in Australia and has done Movie World one too many times I am looking forward to this. $30,000, 000 AUD I find steep for the coaster alone, really surprising considering Icon is roughly the same amount give or take 1-2 million British pounds on the current exchange rate. I can only think its because of how far steel has to travel to Aus? Shawn make sure you visit Movie World during Australia summer end of Nov - end of Jan. The rest of the year the park is doing a lot of maintenance on rides and you might be disappointed to not find everything open at the same time. Aussies will definitely be able to visit this next year, its been tough and lockdown in some states has lasted nearly a full year without any easing of restrictions but Australia is nearly covid free, the numbers prove this. Here is to Sydney and Dreamworlds mack coaster in 2021 :D

I’d try and squeeze Auckland into a trip. There are a lot of options with Air New Zealand (LA, San Francisco, Houston, and shocking Chicago). There are a few others that are out of California (American also goes out of their base Dallas). Once there, it probably isn’t that expensive getting to Melbourne or Sydney

I think it’s good that Intamin have released a single rail so it makes rmc work harder because there’s a some competition (which they haven’t really had yet ) but because Intamin is a bigger manufacturer I hope they don’t dwarf rmc in single rail sails

I don't usually leave negative comments but I think there will be some other people that agree with me. This new Big Dipper rollercoaster at Luna Park, Sydney does not look that great. It looks kind of budget to me and not very exciting or scary. I have been on a lot better rollercoasters in the United States that a lot more better. Ones where you are standing up and other rollercoasters where you are hanging down outside the cart so your legs are hanging out in mid-air.
