Here is my problem - The cost of all the extensions. I own 2 DAWs and hundreds of insanely good plugins including Arturia V collection 7. Yet UAD feels it's a good idea to sell a minimoog plugin for 300$. What the heck? I don't care how much work went into their software. That price is ridiculous in today's market environment. Im sorry this LUNA thing is a fool's money grab and I am appalled they are going this route. Thanks for the free DAW UAD. But you will be getting absolutely none of my money for insultingly overpriced extensions.

Yo can someone explain why Luna's elastic audio is SO MUCH superior to other DAWs? I was working on a song last night with midi drums, two elec guitars, and an elec bass. I suddenly had the idea to see what happened if I brought the tempo down by 5 bpms. Almost fell off my chair when i heard it back because there was zero negative change in sound on the audio tracks. WOW. In other daws I always think the audio tracks sound like swiss cheese when you try to change the tempo, full of holes, blips, overall choppy sound. In Luna it sounds 100%

I would love to see UA's take on a DAW control surface as well. The SSL Nucleus is about as close to "perfect" as it gets right now, but obviously the price is outlandish. Avid's controllers are cool, but I'm sure there's much more you could do than what the market currently offers. From what I've seen, it seems like Luna also handles a lot--if not all--of what Console is meant for. That's already a huge plus.That said, a controller that takes advantage of that and seamlessly interacts with both would absolutely be a game changer. There's so much potential there.

Is it using SQLite? I noticed Adobe Lightroom catalogues are SQLite files. Also Blackmagic Davinci Resolve video editor has the option to use an SQL server, not just a database file. That vastly reduces the chances of file corruption (ACID) and also it facilitates their multi-user per-project capabilities. Resolve also offers a save-as-you-go option. Very interesting. Very cool.

I hate Mac OS and will never use it. Now you have Thunderbolt for AMD motherboards and, i was planing to buy one just for AMD crazy CPU power and plus now it have Thunderbolt, so will this be available on Windows so i can start changing to UA ecosystem or should i go with MOTU or RME, like most people do?

I'd go MOTU or RME because its way more stable and lots of support available. If you're doing client work, you may want to wait until this is proven solid before revamping. Just my opinion.

I have an x8p and a twin quad running PT - couldn't get their native remote software to work for some reason. But a 3rd party desktop controller works pretty well for a similar setup. I'm often tracking by myself in a better-sounding room.

Higher resolution for the video would be great, especially when we're watching the screen with the interface elements. It looks like Luna is coming in strong, we expect no less from UA. Integration of protocols for control surfaces like Avid artist, Presonus faderport, etc, that would help a very natural use and migration for many of us.

I'm interested in how well LUNA can be used for editing voiceover. Is there a way to edit clips using key commands instead of the smart-tool-esque mouse operation? I suppose since there aren't any individual tools in a toolbar it isn't likely, but I've tried porting my editing workflow from PT to StudioOne and it's just way too "mousy". Is there an ability for keyboard-focused editing?

Auto save, sample rate conversion (so no chipmunk scenarios) and buffer. Flexible work flow with other workstations. Easier clip fades & lengths, pitch & gain changes made straight forward. Arrow key to plug in audition. Breadcrumb hints so things don’t get lost. Command G is great, as is spill. Midi Command D looks great taking my thoughts away from robot music fears. It’s beginning to look like a workstation built around your music & you, unlike a DAW built around a computer & programming. Can’t wait to Spring into action lol
