There’s NO OTHER YT-er that is so unapologetically/brutally honest in their videos yet, still classy/respectful (IMHO), than you are!! I have the utmost respect for you, and am extremely grateful for all of your hard work w/ all your videos for they are always so helpful & reliable… so, THANK YOU!!!❤️
@sacredsiren6 жыл бұрын
I always find it SUPER offensive when gay men and especially drag queens insult women and their private parts... it happens a lot on the World of Wonder KZbin videos and I've seen it on Drag Race... you make your coin dressing like a woman, there is no need to make offensive comments about how gross their lady parts are... I know Manny isn't a drag queen, but a lot of his viewers are women and I just think it is really disrespectful and immature to say these things... just because you don't want to have sex with a particular gender, it doesn't mean you have to act like their genitals are revolting. I appreciated your honest review on this, was waiting to see what you had to say... I also didn't purchase this because I don't like Manny, but it was nice to see that you gave this such an impartial review. Always love your input.
@Amoureuxxx6 жыл бұрын
sacredsiren Exactly. Gay men and drag queens mimic women in many aspects of their lives and yet many of them seem to be so crude and insulting toward women. How are you going to dress, talk, and act like a woman and then spew so much hatred towards them? Totally hypocritical and unnecessary. Most of them wouldn't even have careers if it weren't for women.
@LeaChristine6 жыл бұрын
Yep! Just because they are gay men and/or drag queens does not give them a pass to be sexist and hateful towards women. But a lot of people seem to think it does because not a lot of people talk about the misogyny in the gay/drag community and it is a problem worth discussing.

You articulated EVERYTHING and EXACTLY my thoughts on Manny MUA. I don’t know how a public figure who talks about his disenfranchisement and history of bullying can be so obviously hypocritical AND bully others (and hate) women and people of colour both on and offline. Manny has been continuously sexist toward women and, believe it or not, homophobic towards gay women for a long time. Haven't seen much change from him in that regard. But it's good that he's not hanging out with Jeffree anymore. I still have no interest in buying anything from either of them, though. Besides, the vibrant colors that would make most people want the palette in the first place are almost exact copies of the Sugarpill ones. Hard pass all together.

To me it's hypocritical of people to demand respect because of their sexuality but then turn around and be so disrespectful to others. Like boo hoo woe is me...but you just were laughing at someone else for their differences?? I can't and won't support people like that and I don't understand how people still are going to support his or anyone else's brand that does those things. I feel like I'm in the twilight zone with these fans... this is the reason cults get so many followings. People can't think deeper than the kiddie pool. Anyway, I miss your videos Stephanie! I agree 100% , not having a great deal of disposable income, I shop wisely. I put my money into things I things I find to be of value and while not always smart. It has to be a fair product. Manny could put out the best most original mind blowing pallet and I wouldn't buy it because of who he has shown himself to be. A bigot and a bully. . Am I perfect, no. But I try to not be a total asshole. I tend to not buy from people I don't find credible. It's just makeup not world events, but I can't promote Manny or Jeffree or people like them. I am waiting for Goss makeup. That is the one "influencer" I find to be of value for dollar. I saved to buy his brushes. Worth the hype. I believe his makeup will be also. You make honest videos . I'd actually somehow forgotten that comment about women Jeffree and Manny had said in that video (and bleeped over)... and how that hurt and made my jaw drop, especially as a parent, knowing so many young people watch their videos and now buy their products. Thankyou for reminding me. I've experienced several mysogenistic instances in social situations over the years with people I thought were friends at the time - being joked about in disgusting ways just because I was the only woman in the room, making me feel ashamed and embarrassed to the point where I didn't want to be around them anymore. That comment that day brought that back, and I guess I must have tried to push it out of my head. It's called "gay mysogeny", and it's a real thing. It's gross, and appalling, and those two ought to be ashamed of so many of their actions. Another great review, luv!

I can't tell you just how much I enjoy your videos. You're straight to the point, honest and don't pull any punches. That's why I am subscribed to you (one of the reasons). You're a brilliant skin care person and have really been great for me to learn about skin care. Then, you're a talented make up artist. Thanks for all you do, Stephanie!

Thank you for addressing his misogyny. Misogyny is a huge problem in the gay community in general, influencers like Manny should be examples leading the way out of such problematic behaviours not pushing it further and exposing young girls to it and leaving them with all kinds of body issues. Because of this I will never give him a penny.

The fact that you can separate the “business” part of the review (shadow performance, quality, price, etc.) from the “emotional” side (feelings about the creator based on his actions) says so much about your professionalism. It’s always nice to get an opinion on the creator without it coloring the product review.

Thank you for doing this review so well, Stephanie. You kept the eyeshadows separate from the creator to judge them on their own, but still spoke the truth when it came time for it. This is why you’re the most trusted influencer ❤️

For that exact teal, I don't have a match. I do have three shadows from Sydney Grace that dance around the color. Their white and pastels are pretty good. Seafoam is too light. Perfect Storm is too blue. Scuba Diver is too dark. Mixing Seafoam and Scuba Diver appears to get you very close to Kiki. Devinah Cosmetics has a color called Miranda, but it seems too green. Devinah's brighter colors and pastels can be fussy, but Miranda is good. My desk is now a war zone. 😂

I can’t imagine buying anything from this person. I bought the Jaclyn Hill/Becca Champagne Pop trio - I did like it. Still do. I’ll be interested to see what Wayne Goss does - he turned me on to my favourite foundation and his brushes were obviously a passion project. I trust him enough to try his projects. The owner claiming that “Kiki” was meant to a “wash of colour” is such a crock. Nice spin. Good effort. 🙄I have no interest purchasing makeup from so-called adults with zero credibility. Thanks, Stef. Much love from Canada. 🇨🇦😘❤️

Strobe Cosmetics has a similar shade called creep it real in their creepy cute palette which is way more pigmented. If you want a wash of color with the strobe shadow you can just go in with a light hand. It’s just an excuse for the Kiki shadow being poorly pigmented. The same excuse as when companies say dark green and purples are hard to make so they all will be patchy. My Sydney Grace shadows aren’t patchy, even the dark greens and purples knock a lot of these Sephora and influencers brands out of the park.

Yay early!!! I loved your life update video. It was nice to see more personal stuff. I'm sorry you're going thru all the that tho. I understand so much. I'm a mother of 4, a recovering opiate addict with almost 5 years clean, and right now I'm taking care of my mom who is fighting stage 3 small cell lung cancer. It's been hard trying to get all the big stuff and little for her. I have tried to find her a nice wig but the free ones aren't like what she had. I also have been trying to get her some new cosmetics all hers are expired or broken but the only company that donates makeup to women fighting cancer requires the patient to go to a class and that would be impossible for her. Anyway all that to say you are the most honest and informative KZbinr and I appreciate it so very much. Love you.

+Miranda Mallery I don't know if you like Tati. But considering your mom's situation, maybe you should contact her? She always donates doubles and PR package stuff to women shelters, etc.

The more I watch you, Stephanie, the more I love you lol. As an avid KZbin-watcher, and professional freelance Makeup Artist, I have noticed myself getting away from all of the "larger" influencers in the past few years, and I am so happy to have someone like you who I can still go to for beauty videos, but also get actual facts, science, honesty, realness. Your last update video made me relate to you even more as a human being, not just someone on the other side of a screen. I really appreciate all of the hard work you put into your videos! Thank you!

Yaaaaaay! So happy to see this notification! I'm going back and forth on this palette. I feel like I would use the brights more being in a palette with neutrals but I could also see myself being too overwhelmed by all the color and not using the palette. Like I did with the JH palette. It's too overwhelming so I don't use it. Too many options give me anxiety, lol. It's weird but I hate big menus or anything with too many options.

I agree. When there are too many shades I still only use the same few lol

Another neutral/color mix palette for half the price is the juvias place masquerade.. they even have a mini version which is the same colors just smaller pans and that one is less than 20$. It is great quality in my opinion.

You aren't wrong! I was once told that according to science, we would much rather go to Dairy Queen than Baskin Robins for ice cream, because Dairy Queen has less options. We know we're not going to wish we had gotten Rocky Road instead of Cookie Dough. But I'm very surprised and happy that Manny produced a very high quality palette.

Most balanced, most in-depth, and most technical review of a palette ever. The fact that you go into the chemistry of products, talk about the pros and cons of it, and discuss the business side of the brand (the side that very FEW people who call themselves "influencers" talk about because it really does expose them for who they are online - opportunistics) makes you the most credible make up person on KZbin.
@kellybeach6326 жыл бұрын
thank you!!!! You are one of the few influencers who can look at a product completely objectively and give us an honest review on how the product actually performs!!! Thank you for being the one I can turn to for a true representation of a products value...keep it up girl, we love you

Hearsay but no smoke without fire. Jeffree is now main shareholder of morphe and owns manny mua possibly laura lee too - any drama channels watching - possibly research, if true? Great vid Stephanie, as usual - I agree with your end thoughts - as long as we learn by our mistakes , that's the motto. I personally wouldn't buy anything from Manny or Jeffree. They openly mock women imo and laugh , all the way to the bank

He has said he can't discuss the friendship breakdown with Laura and Manny because there are contracts involved which I'm guessing are business not friendship contracts lol.
@Midalias256 жыл бұрын
You mean owns the companies? I don't think so. Manny and Laura have stated they don't have investors. What I believe JS can be involved is in storage and distribution. They can be his clients and that's why he may not be able to discuss anything. But when the contract limitations expire, I believe JS is going to talk about his "truth" and obviously it'd be like "They are evil. They used me."
