They're all memorable but for me Sega CD all the way, there's just something about that original old school raw sound that does it for me :)

superplaceholder Maybe not the only one, but probably in the minority. Most people played Legend because they already loved the series from the SCD or PS1. Legend was kinda poorly received overall by Lunar fans. It’s really just a watered down version of the Saturn/PS1 port and does little to assert its own relevance or necessity.

Played it as a kid cause I had no idea what Lunar was and the box cover was interesting. As a standalone game it's serviceable, but there are better options. Personally I feel the psp is the definitive version of the game

MedjedTheEdged Nope. Luna stays with you through Meribia until the return to Burg as in the Saturn/PS1 versions, and the additional villains (Royce and Phacia) are present as well. It definitely is more consistent with the remakes than the original SCD, and it even features a few extra things that are not found in any other version.

Wow, the PC version is outstanding. The Sega CD version threw me off for a long time because the first rendition I heard was on GBA.

All of those renditions and the one on the Sega CD still overshadows what they did later on. The soundtrack on the Sega CD was brilliant at that time and it still holds up today.

The cd one sounds like when all the hero’s give their lame ass speeches before the final boss. The other version just have that up tune time to kick some more ass feel. Which Is why I like those more and all their variations.

Man it always seems like the PC/Sega CD is the superior system overall, but usually Saturn does a fantastic job when it comes to Great Sound and quality.

@@madd74x I wouldn't say better story, in fact, the PSX fixed almost all the "errors" that the story of SegaCD had, for example, when Luna leaves your party, i hate that, because I did not feel anything, I did not miss her (aside from the fact that she was my healer) and she was a more charismatic character in the PSX version (I know that PSX could do more dialogues but I think the SegaCD though it may be more limited, could at least given more development to her), the PSX version fixes it.

I've been playing through the original Saturn version of Lunar SSS on my Model 1 via the Satiator in English (despite owning a copy of the original and MPEG/Complete versions). I'm probably the only one that prefers it's version of the battle theme over the PS1 version lol.

The Sega CD version is the best!!! It really gets you into the game and battles. Sega Saturn and PSP versions are the second best. The Playstation version sucked the most. I am happy that harmony fixed it, you need that guitar at the intro.

The Playstation version is pretty disappointing to me. It starts out sounding really good, but then when it goes on, the instruments sound like a mix between SNES instruments and MIDI instruments. The Saturn version doesn't really suffer from this problem, but it sounds emptier. The GBA version honestly could sound better than it does (I've heard much better, and I don't even like the way the GBA sounds). The PC version sounds even better than the Saturn version, but it suffers from being empty again, lol. The PSP version is really close to being perfect, but the strings are overpowered by the brass. Still love the way that timpani sounds. The SEGA CD version suffers the exact opposite problems that the other songs suffer from. The song has a problem starting up, but once it's going, it sounds REALLY GOOD.

The Saturn version's drumset part before the song loops is nonexistent in the Playstation version, and the instruments sound much better in my opinion, but at least the Playstation version got the mixing right. The guitars feel too quiet in the Saturn version.
