My friend you can easily emulate every Lunar game ever made on the lowest level pc. Sega emulator called kega is great. Tons of choices to play the lunar on Playstation emulators... Plus psppp has a great emulator. Emulators easier than you think.

I had an old gaming magazine way back when I was still a wee lad w/ a walkthrough of the last Arc of Lunar 2 & often read it again & again. Was always interested in the world so when both were released in the PSX, it became one of my RPG classic faves.

Absolutely PUMPED about this! The Lunar series is extremely dear to me. The original SegaCD versions of this series were the first RPGs I ever owned or played back in the early 90s and when they released the Complete versions of these on PlayStation I got them too. I've been saying for 20 years I wish they would re-make this series.

Same, I played it on the SEGA CD, still own my copy, but don't have the console anymore. I loved this game. Didn't even know there was a sequel until about 10 years ago (I thought the ads I saw for the playstation were remakes or re-releases). Glad I can finally play it again with the chance to play the sequel on the Xbox!

Lunar is my roommate's single favourite series. Hell, he bought a Sega CD just so he could buy Sega CD versions of Silver Star Story and Eternal Blue. I'm just excited to play games that I don't have to break out my PS1 for. I'm loving this renaissance of ports and remasters of 20 to 30 year old RPGs that are stranded on old hardware.

I never played the originals and I'm really excited for this collection as a physical. Play Asia has a PS5 version for NA and EU regions, but maybe that's a mistake. I also read the cover artwork was done by Toshiyuki Kubooka who worked on the original games. Love the 90s anime style. Thanks for the video!

As an old school jrpg vet who played lunar 1 and 2 on the playstation, I consider these games to be some of the most whimsical and classical jrpgs you could play. Chrono trigger and ff6 were more dark, sure, but lunar was just as good, in a wholesome Disney like sort of way.

Lunar 1 and 2 were among the first JRPGs I played back when the PS2 had only recently come out. My favorite of them was 2 because it took what made the first one so good and made it bigger and I loved the music for it. I look forward to seeing if Zophar is as difficult a boss as I remember.

Man I am so excited for these games. I bought them both when they released on PS1 and I actually replayed Lunar 1 in 2023 on PSP. However, I haven’t played Lunar 2 since I was a senior in high school and my old ass graduated in 2002 so it’s been a while lol. With so much being reworked I'm not surprised at all that they decided not to used the original voice track in English. To me it would have to be redubbed and if you're going that far, they might as well just use a new cast instead of trying to hunt down the old one. I played both when it came out on the Sega CD and both when they came out on the playstation. I can't wait to see the improvements since than on the Switch.

I actually played the first Lunar on GBA as Lunar Legend, & then on PSP for Lunar Silver Star Harmony. I am so beyond excited to have the opportunity to play one of my all time favorite JRPGs again, & to finally get the opportunity to play Lunar 2! ☺️

Played Lunar on the Sega CD back in the day... was one of my favorites... and then I played it on the Playstation, and loved it even more... then didn't play Lunar 2 till the 2000's and I was sad I hadn't played it earlier, as it is great. I am excited for this collection. I kind of wish it was redone in the HD-2d, but I am just happy Lunar hasn't been completely been forgotten. Hopefully at some point we get a new game that can capture what the originals did.

I played Silver Star Story Complete. Along with Final Fantasy VII, it was the game that got me into JRPGs. It's such an underrated game. I think the reason it's overlooked is because it was released towards the end of the Playstation's life cycle and was a hard act to follow after FF7.

Actually, i was thinking of doing a replay of lunar story 2 (i have the orginal). So, it is a maybe for me since i never played the first one. Hopefully they keep the ending features in this one because i remember they were so cool and interesting. (Once you beat the game, you unlock music tracks and cast interviews)

I'm looking forward to getting Lunar easily.....but I heard Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter Remake Collectors Editions will be done through LRG, wheras regular editions will be handled by GungHo in North America and Clear River Games in Europe. That means if Falcom remakes the whole trilogy and if I want the collectors editions, I either need to go through the LRG Shipping process 3 times over, OR order an international collectors edition, OR stick to regular editions. Tough call.

Even worse, Trails through Daybreak could still be released through NIS America/NIS Europe. 2nd game releases next month (February 2024), with Daybreak 3 and Daybreak 4 unconfirmed by NIS (although Daybreak 4 was only recently annouced in an interview). I even emailed NIS America and they didn't have an answer for whether they were pulishing Daybreak 3. I really hope its not a similar situation to what happened to Cold Steel. CS1 and CS2 were done by XSEED in NA and Marvelous in EU. CS3, CS4 and every Trails game and Ys game have since has been done by NIS America/Europe. As for why GungHo and Clear River got it, I heard Falcom was going to try and publsih in-house. My guess is those plans fell through and they just went with publishers that charged a cheaper rate.....Although if you watch "Legend of Heroes: Trails In The Sky SC - What Happened?", you'll realize how difficult it was for the original publishers of the Sky Trilogy to get it on Steam initially. Which is why the Sky Remake's claim to get a “Brand-new English, German, and French localizations and English/Japanese Voice-overs" and be released worldwide simultaneously for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam in Fall 2025 is incredible. Here's hoping its a smooth release with no delays.

The Sega CD version is an early example of great CD quality sound and animation in a home console game. I mean...like...REALLY early. Like one of the first few to do it...with the animated cutscenes and non digitized music. And it has such a simple but great plot with so much adventure. I remember as a pre-teen feeling really deeply about the characters and the world. The villian is one of the best in all of gaming in my opinion. The PlayStation re-makes are CLASSICS with updated animation and sound. These are some of the best games ever. Miss out at your own risk.

Because some RPGs cannot support the speed up function the only one so far noticed that it could support the speed up function was Final Fantasy 8 and Final Fantasy 9 are so far the only RPGs have been able to support the speed up function when it comes to Final Fantasy VII using the speed of function at certain points of the game it starts crash when a console or a video game is not properly optimized for a certain function it's going to crash and when that happens I'd recommend not using that function anymore until the system and the counselor optimized for that function

I've played every version of these games from when they first came out. The disappointing thing is that they aren't using the PSP version of Lunar which was far better in terms of sprite work and overall graphics than the PS1 version. Even though I own every version of the game that's the only one I play if I want to replay it. So that is a shame. But I have an Xbox Series X and not a PS5 so if I got it that's what I would play it on.

I played the PS1 version way back. I’m sad we won’t have the original dub, since it was corny like other 90s dubs of its time. But I’ll be happy to replay it in Japanese. Hopefully like a lot of modern games, it’ll have Japanese text option too. Since I heard the old translation took a lot of liberties when localizing the jokes.

They didn't just copy and paste the game files. They redid the sprites, made it widescreen, new VO for both games, Japanese VO, 2 new languages, gameplay enhancements. This all takes work and isn't free. I feel like $50 is more than fair.

Rewind function sucks what do you think most emulators and game shark in Game Genie never had a rewind function for the lunar or any RPG I thought it made more sense to just increase the value of the experience and the money cuz that's what people concentrate more in speeding up the battles would just cause the game crash cuz I know because Final Fantasy VII had a speed up function and every time I played it on things like my Nintendo switch it would crash Final Fantasy VII because of the speed of function does RPGs are not meant to be played that fast what do you think Game Genie and Game Shark never use Source codes on RPGs recreate game crash giving an RPG a speed up function cuz they're not designed to be played that way they're meant to be a slow casual enjoyed game experience I think it makes more sense to increase your experience value and your money value that's why even Tails games double the experience 5 times the experience 10 times the experience and also do the same thing for the money because the companies that make these games realize increasing money and experience is more important than speeding up the game more Staples enjoyable experience

God no, the PSP version is terrible. The battle system is completely different, there are additional cutscenes that completely change the characters and their motivations and the english localization adds in a lot of dated pop culture references. Also, Crispin Freeman as the voice of Ghaleon is just painful to listen to.

“I highly doubt very many people are going to pick this up on Xbox.” Show me where there’s hate. I’m simply stating a fact based on previous sales data for JRPGs. Most JRPG fans prefer to play on PlayStation or Nintendo. If you’re going to play on Xbox that’s great! But we’d both be lying if we said there’s a massive JRPG community on Xbox compared to PlayStation and Nintendo.

@@The_Winter_Shoulder I just don't want my favorite studios having a bigger risk of failure by wasting money porting JRPGs to a console who's player base has no interest in things other than CoD or NBA 2K for the most part. Does that really make me a snob? If you really want to play these games get a PS5 or a Switch 2 when it launches.

@@TheKrueger1428 Resources are finite, and if you bought an Xbox and no other console then you clearly aren't a JRPG fan. I have a series X as well for the record, I'm just not delusional enough to expect to play JRPGs on it.
