I really hope Lunar isnt one of the people who thinks Jax is an asshole just for the sake of it. I think a lot of people miss certain details that give away how he actually does care about the other members - like how he pushed them into the pit to save them from Kaufmo and was visibly worried when one of the gloinks were glitching. He was also dodging Zooble's question of why Pomni isn't there because he doesn't want to directly confront anything - and he probably feels guilt for leaving her and Ragatha behind and probably thought they died. Jax is sarcastic and rude as a coping mechanism, because the Digital Circus is getting to him too. They all cope differently. Granted, Jax doesn't have a very GOOD coping mechanism, but it's important to recognise that he DOES care.

Theory: the characters aren't the original humans Maybe the headset "scanned them into the system" and copied their personalities and suchlike So the characters are digital copies, meanwhile the original humans are just going about their lives none the wiser

Which, if that's the case, it's existentially, probably a lot more kind than Soma's version of the copied consciousness concept. Because in Soma, they're in a recognizably real environment with their memory fully in tact, names and all, they have a much harder time internalizing that they're functionally a distinct person from their parent consciousness. But in ADC, they're in a space fundamentally different from where they came from, had to choose a different name, and some sources say they've even forgotten more vital aspects of their previous identity. Chances are, if this theory were correct and the Circ-gang found it to be true, they'd probably have an easier time distinguishing themselves from their parent consciousness. The only thing they'd have no answer for then is that they'd have no way to return (same case in Soma, but life in ADC is definitely much less painful and risky) and that their existence will always be digital. If they were to think about it, existentially, that doesn’t make them less real because they're still an entire consciousness. Most existentialist questions in existential horror have pretty healthy answers.

Nice to see you guys check this show's pilot out too! Gangle, Kinger and Jaz are definitely my top 3 favorite as well, Pomni and the others are pretty cool too. I'm definitely hyped for it to have more episodes soon. Jax is definitely a jerk, but there's something about his jerky nature that makes him really entertaining. Kinger also being just a little insane is really funny to see, I also love the moment where he Kinger bugs out around 13:38 - 13:52. I definitely agree that Sun could react this way too lol.
