I never got the chance to play this. Now I've discovered this recently (thanks to someone and it got me interested), I feel that Popful Mail is a lovely 90s gem that's got to have a Renaissance and should never be forgotten. I got to say Mail is quite a pretty heroine. I wish there'll be more of this and definitely wish the anime adaptation would've been made. Who likes to have a Popful Mail remake?

These types of videos on Mega-CD are absolutely timeless. They age better than everything that was released on 32 bits because they don't rely on real videos + compression. Lunar Eternal Blue has the same genre of videos, they are fantastic. And some other games as well.

I used to have Popful Mail. Never should have sold it and my Sega CDX (the all in one system) back in 2003. I had all of the good Sega CD games: Lunar I and II, Vay, Popful Mail, Dark Wizard, Shining Force CD, etc. I have since bought a Sega Genesis and Sega CD again. I have Lunar I and II again, but I would need a very large lottery win to buy the other great Sega CD games again as they are very pricey now due to rarity and nostalgia.

I still own all the games you listed (the collection of any sega rpg fan). Believe it or not, I bought Popful mail used for like $30 at the time since reviewers were only giving it okay reviews(like 3 out of 5). One of my all time favorite games.

i played it at launch... it had amazing cutscenes.. and lackluster gameplay.. but it was a step in the direction of game narrative..
