Who remembers “The Salsa Hut” at Painter Ave. and Mulberry street back in the late ‘70s and early ‘80s. A great salsa bar and THE best burrito I have ever ate called the “super combination burrito”. A large flour tortilla with beans, rice, carne asada, carnitas, Cebolla, lettuce, rolled nice and tight then covered with a warm salsa. I used to work at Whittier Presbyterian hospital back then on the night shift and that burrito was “Da best” burrito in Whittier and big enough for lunch then breakfast when I woke up. And their salsa bar was out of this world. Sure do miss them burritos and salsa’s.
