Lunch Date with the Pack and Freddo and Rosco gain Respect for each other

We decided to do something a little different. A lunch date with the pack in the bush. One of our favourite things is to hang out with the dogs when they’re calm and super content. Lunch is the perfect time, they’ve had a big morning working hard and the afternoon is back into it. But lunch we stop. Take a moment for ourselves and each other.
Our conversation is often about the dogs. Dogs are our life and we do like to talk to each other about the ever changing relationships and dynamics within our own pack.
Today we couldn’t help but talk about Freddo and Rosco. Two big males, similar backgrounds. Initially, there wasn’t much love between them. Now there’s a different story evolving.
We talk about what’s been happening and why it works between the two of them. A very interesting and complimentary relationship, founded on their mutual desire to protect what they value/love. But, differently, which is where they have comfortably settled.
Slowing down and taking a moment gives us the chance to talk about these things that we’ve both noticed, just haven’t had the time to discuss it. It warms both our hearts seeing relationships blossom and further personal development of the individual dogs as a result.

When my dog lost her sight, the vet told us that her sense of smell was a dog’s primary sense, followed by hearing and then sight. She learned her way around the house and yard and never had any problems. I was amazed. Violet is living her best life, unfazed by anything. Roscoe is a wonderful dog. He can make anyone feel safe.

I too remember Miss Violet as a small puppy that could hardly walk and wondered what her life would be like. Certainly had no idea in that small little puppy was a huge zest for life and love for all creatures. She just lives life to the fullest each moment she is awake. 😉

Part of the reason Miss Violet is the way she is, is because no one told her she was different or that she has special needs. That is the beauty of animals. They accept what their life is, never knowing that other animals are more abled and they work to the best of their abilities within their limited parameters. Never knowing they are 'special'. :)

i noticed some videos ago that freddo watched roscoe closely. freddo now knows that roscoe will protect the family as much as he does. since he is an older boy he can now slow down a little bit knowing roscoe will stand guard. 🙂

What a lovely afternoon for Luke and Sam with the pack. Watching Tank and Chopper play with Faith and Hope so sweet. Miss Violet the Warrior Princess will always have our hearts she is fearless. Barney and Maggie love being together. Enjoyed listening to Luke explain the hierarchy of the pack. Awesome that you have such protection as a family with Freddo, The Shepherds and Roscoe that last line of defense. So happy that Freddo and Roscoe have become buddy's and can share the job of protecting everyone. When you have your family on the vlog it nice to know you don't have to worry with your pack ready to protect everyone. Wolfie has the best pack to grow up with.

Love Roscoe and Freddo. I had a mastiff Bella and she was like Roscoe... She never really barked. she would let anyone come up to the house, but would stand guard beside me and wait for me to say it was ok and then she was very friendly. They are such loyal dogs and such good guardians.

I love that description. She's never been treated as if she was disabled, but been allowed to have her adventures and discover her potential. Humans need to learn from this. Don't limit yourselves based on the perceptions of yourself or others. Don't live down to expectations, but live up to the possibilities. Explore them as far as you can, and grow in the process!

Yummy simple lunch and quiet time to talk. A rare parents' blessing during waking hours. Congratulations, Freddo and Roscoe! My guess is Freddo called it, because he arrived at the farm first. Violet is a superhero among dogs living with disabilities. Deaf, blind and learning disabled, true. But sit about and grow old in an armchair? Never. Intuitively I felt, that once bonded, Freddo and Roscoe would be a dynamic and formidable "Security Duo". Incredibly both dogs project such dedication, love and loyalty of family thus, I am over-the moon that these two "gentle giants" are now becoming such good buddies! WOW! The biggest thing i love ❤️ 😍 💖 Is how every dog takes a roll in checking in on the pups with a handicap. Whether it's a quick sniff , a small bump to make sure they are heading the right way . To nose them awake from a nap. Just about everyone in the pack does it. 🥰❤️. Like you said . Violet may be blind and death . But with the packs help. She Has maped the property. Another beautiful video, thanks Sam, Luke and all the gorgeous doggos! It was terrific to see Hope and Faith saying hello to Tank and Chopper. I loved the discussions about Miss 💜, Roscoe and Freddo. I always forget that Miss 💜 is deaf and blind. She must have a fantastic sense of smell and as Luke said, she has a mental map of the farm which makes it look like she can see and hear just like the other dogs. She is a very precious gem of a dog who has stolen many hearts around the world! None of us mind in the least, either!! It's great to hear and see that Freddo and Roscoe have put their differences behind them and are now buddies! It was very interesting to hear how the two of them and the GS dogs have security all sewn up!!😁

I've been an ardent admirer and 'fan' for over 2 and a half years now, (& a more recent subscriber) and for some reason, this particular video hit the top of the list for me. Felt as though I was there with you, could smell the bush, warm my hands on the tea (he he), just soaking it all in and listening intently like a fly on the wall! I try not to let the warm & fuzzies overtake me, but this one had it all. I've probably watched all vids at least 2-3 times, read all the usually wonderfully warm and encouraging comments, love all the dogs (can't help having favourites), but Roscoe has reached out an grabbed my heart. His passivity, seemingly, is his charm, the mastiff masterly manipulation; he's a keeper (I'm not suggesting you here) but for whomever is sooo very lucky to adopt him. What a dog! And what a pack for incorporating him in seemingly seamlessly. Love to all at The Farm. My HAPPY PLACE!!!

Did I miss something? Isn’t Rosco still up for adoption though? I’m not on the paid subscription as of yet so sometimes I don’t get all the juicy exciting news, unless it get posted here, so I could have completely missed the change in status of Rosco. I know if it were me in their place I would have a hard time letting most dogs go away and be adopted. I love when they said they couldn’t name any more dogs because in naming the shepherds they had to keep them. Hence the colored collars began. I’m saying though even with the puppies long gone now and the rescue shelter dogs extended stays, I’d grow so attached to them that I’d be like Sam the day Yo-yo visited and she didn’t want him to go back to the shelter and broke down in tears. I’d be that way every time the shelter dogs were ready for adoption. I know in my heart they need homes and owners of their own but it would be hard for me to let go when they fit so well into the pack. So now I need to watch the video and see if Rosco stays or I just misread the comments and he’s still up for adoption. He’s such a gorgeous boy and so full of love and appreciation towards Luke. His tail never stops except when he wore it out for that week or so.

Okay so now I watched the video and there’s straight out saying he’s staying in the pack, but I’m guessing he’s there to stay. After Luke explained the pack dynamics and Freddo’s and Rosco’’s roles in house house and pack, I hope he’s there to stay. I much enjoy his side eye and protection he gives to the Evans clan. They are important parts to the pack and anyone who protects the Evans clan is important. I value them as an every day appearance in my life and they bring happiness and my depression is Lenore manageable. So it all makes me happy. Sam’s laugh makes me happy, Luke’s pride in his teachings and instruction of the dogs, the1 children running around laughing and giggling all make me extremely happy. So if anyone has heard if Rosco is staying on and no longer up for adoption can you say something please? I enjoy his swimming way to much to want to part with him in my daily videos I get the pleasure of watching.

@@bekiebrn I could be wrong, but I believe Rosco is still in training/rehab and hasn't been adopted by the Evanses. The pack thing is just how he's been integrated into socialising with all of the dogs and the family rather than being separated like Molly etc in separate quarters. Hopefully Rosco will be adopted by a loving person/people when his training is complete.

They have so many pups in their care that if Roscoe does get adopted by another family then it’s what’s best for him. If he stays then it’s be wonderful too. Either way it’s a win-win. I have dubbed Cutie Pie “Miss Hopeful.” That little face shows up for treats and cuddles and who can resist? I don’t know whether it’s Tank or Chopper but one has the most interesting ears. One ear is definitely kelpie and the other is staffy. I’m totally charmed. Freddo and Roscoe are both immensely impressive dogs. I’ve been overwhelmed by their sweetness and their protective natures. Like all members of a pack (human as well), they have settled into their roles and are now quite comfortable with each other. It’s good to see Hope joining in on pack life. I feel for Faith and am sad that she’s missing out on so much that is just waiting for her to access. Miss Violet, what more can we say? She is so comfortable being who she is. She loves to eat, sleeps whenever and wherever, and loves everyone without reservation. And expects everyone to love her back, so of course everyone does. She has made a remarkable life for herself. (I still wonder how she made it to the top of the truck before the Christmas photo shoot!)

I loved this video, sitting there surrounded by dogs would be my idea of bliss too. I love the brotherhood the two big boys Freddo and Roscoe have formed. Someone would have to have rocks in their head to even think about trespassing on your property with those two boys and the GSDs looking out for you. I love seeing Shadow relishing the peace and love in her life.

Freddo and Roscoe are two incredible dogs. And see them together is so beautiful. They can become the best friends and it will be wonderful. Miss Violet and miss Red are two others incredible dogs. They love kissing the other dogs, they are very friendly. Miss Violet is living her best life with who she is. She is dealing so well with that. She's a beautiful exemple of life's force.

I watch every video numerous times but this one will be even more numerously viewed! I've never been a big dog person, more a CP size! I don't really know why but Rosco has won my heart (I'm totally unsuitable as a Rosco-type owner) bur despite his breed, colouring, size, and history he now shares my heart alongside Miss Violet, Freddo and Tilly. Humans could learn so much from these dogs who have overcome big hurdles in their lives to reach a happy place. I'm hoping that Rosco will be adopted by a family who loves him (and no I'm not dropping hints) just saying that Rosco deserves happiness.

I like the bush the most on the farm because I like the woods and terrain. I used to live in a wooded area with a stream and loved just sitting on a rock with my dogs sniffing and casually walking about and going into the stream. So peaceful. Same feeling I got from this video. I'm thrilled with Freddo's and Rosco's friendship. Thank you.

Absolutely adore this video! So relaxed, the pack enjoying itself. I have noticed that Freddo and Rosco, have gotten closer in the last couple of videos. It's so very sweet. Two dogs that would have been put down, now living their best lives, and enjoying each other. Buddies. Because of the two of you!! So many life changes you both make in all these dogs' lives!! Our Miss Violet!! Love how Luke said before....She's the little train that could.....describes her perfectly. Maggie and Barney, Faith and Hope. Really loved hearing about the hierarchy with the Shepherds, Freddo and Roscoe. Love that the two of you make time to be together!!!

Roscoe looked like the figurehead on the prow of a ship as Luke was driving down the hill. A huge, hulking figurehead, Roscoe was worthy of a carving!! He has become a darling on the pack, Mr. Last Line of Defense for the house!❤

I really appreciate these intimate looks at your life. What a lovely way to spend time with each other. Every dog in your pack and in your care look so content. It’s wonderful to hear about their places and jobs within the pack hierarchy. Very happy Roscoe and Freddo are buddies. Roscoe is such a handsome, smart guy. I hope his forever family always loves him and treats him well. Looks like Faith and Hope are more relaxed and social now. And those beautiful boys-Chopper and Tank..❤️. There are not enough words to express how absolutely awesome I think Miss Violet is. She is so unique and loved. I'd wondered how a couple with a baker's dozen of dogs and three kids can get some time alone. This is perfect. I was amazed at the story of Rosco and Freddo figuring out their guarding positions. That waiting until the unknown is at the door takes nerves of steel. Enjoyed this very much.
