LUNCH FOR THE HAY CREW

So my husband Luke grew up with his mom constantly making them lunches and bringing them out to the hayfield. So he kept asking me well more like sharing with me what his mom used to do so I decided to make big old hamburgers and surprise him wrap them in tinfoil like his mom didn’t bring him out to the field. He was super excited of course my hamburgers weren’t as good as his moms because she is the ultimate cook but I think he really was thankful that I brought it out
This video is a little behind because time just got away with me
We just did our second cutting and we’re almost officially done with her. I am so thankful for my hard-working crew that helps dad whenever he needs it.

I soo loved this video as it brought back soo many beautiful memories of my life on the land. I grew up on a small crop farm, but when I got married 48 years ago, it’s always been beef or sheep. As a child, I used to love when mum would pack a tucker box of freshly cut sandwiches, usually corn meat & pickles, & a thermos flask of black tea & we would sit under a tree with the workers & eat. After we had children I would do the same, sometimes warm homemade rissole sandwiches. There’s nothing like eating out in the bush. The children would love helping their father muster the cattle on their ponies. If only we could turn back time. These days the mustering is done on motor bikes. I always say this but I'm single no kids- I wish I had a big family to cook for and take care of! I'd love to be a stay at home wife. I'm not saying it looks easy in any way but I'd love to have a large family like yours! Hopefully in my next life time!

Your kids are so lucky. Do they know how lucky they are to live on a farm and learn all that they do. They must be a big help to your husband. It’s good for them to see the hard work it takes to put food in the house. So nice to work outside. Why wasn’t Gideon out there? Even though you are working and living on same farm, it takes 40 minutes or because of speed? How many horses do you have? Do all the kids ride? Were the kids in 4H? Does Josh do hay?

I think we have same fridge look a should have rapid ice feature. I do it n fill 2 gal zip lickbags n then store in my cheast freezerin my garage I try to keep 2 bags but summer I keep making ice I start about a week before what event I have rt now 4 walmart bags n 6 2 gal baggies. kids come n visit n go to rvr n lake n I layer ice salt drinks ice salt ect ect n keeps it cold longer I use reg ice n sometimes I use ice cream salt depending on if 90 or 120+ degrees

I'll have to try that. 8m taking An OTC antihistamine and a prescription antihistamine along with 2 hits a day of Flonase. All prescribed by my ENT doc.

just tell him to shut up n eat. no one brought us food when doing having but my aunt made supper everyday so around 12 1 she'd blow air horn n we come in eat n get 1 hour break after eatting then work til dark then eat whatever was left from last 2 suppers lol my aunt had 12 kids n me but her kids were all grown by the time I came along to work so me my uncle n 2 cousins did 230 acres of hay then week or so after that area we start on the 130 around their house

@@zeph537 That’s not true, Gideon was helping with the unloading. It seems like he has bad allergies or is allergic but is still willing to help. He can’t unload until they finished the field portion. Should he stand out there and look at them? It’s no one’s fault that you think being half dead is the only valid reason to miss work that’s miserable.

When my oldest son was eight he called me duty all damn day and FINALLY I said I hope you grow up to be fat and bald and we all laughed I have never told anyone so I will tell everyone hahaha I forgot I have powers and my son grew up to be that way!! I was born this way I pay no attention to it so I must remember at all times to always speak and think kindly to those that are not evil!! Love always Kelli
