Dan deserves a free run. Hope in the case of dementia, he gets his mum's genes. But he is a lovely son. Pity Grandpa couldn't have known how wonderful he would be. He does have a lovely father, tho. It is sad that so many people envy him his dad, even in this sadness. It would be lovely to have such a decent, gentle, kindly man to think of as your father.

I just adore this family SO SO SO VERY MUCH. First it was Ed who won us all over, then watching how Dan, Danielle & Mark manage the enormous task of caring for Grandpa Salinger, it just lends so much respect & awe to what this family faces day in & day out. As a preschool teacher, I am very familiar with having to repeat myself several times in order to be understood, I also have a 94 year old father that I care-give for, and my youngest is a 19 year old student still living at home as well, so I truly am “sandwiched in” similar to the Salinger’s, and I so very much appreciate and value everything that goes into making sure one’s elderly parents’ needs are met, from minute to monumental. I tip my hat……salute…….bow…..& send loving support of empathy your way❤️😘😘😘

@@evelyn7881 We could have gone to the ends of the Earth for them, & it still wouldn’t compare to the enormity of what they faced in raising us. May we find them again one day….. it’s been 6 years without my mama, & my body & soul ache & yearn for her, every second of every day. I feel so blessed to still have my dad, in any form🥰🙏

Not everyone has a big heart like you. You understand what dad is going through. And I see that you have self time so you dont burn out. God bless you. Not all children can look after their parents. I love your dad and the peaceful man he is. You are such a wonderful son. God bless you. Spend as much time as you can with him, it will be worthwhile in the ends. Thumbs up.

I miss my Dad when watching yours, because My Dad passed away at 55 years old when I was 15 years old. I prayed talked to my Dad early morning every day but no answer from my Dad. Dan is a very patient son. He looks after his Dad and soon his own son will look after him too! When He gets old just like his Dad.
