Such an interesting programme given by a most promising young pianist. His sensitive engagement with, and complete immersion in each piece was a joy to witness. I thought he handled the challenging Bartok wonderfully as he did the contrasting Poulenc Novelettes. Some minor reservations about his treatment of the delightful Granados set where in places momentum succumbed to wisttful rubato - a matter of taste of course, but Granados isn't Mompou! But I very much look forward to seeing and hearing his progress.
