Smol Theory: Basically I think that the bg voice that's all high pitched and contrast-y is the voice of reason that doesn't want to die all the time. It doesn't come in until he's singing about the girl and supposedly he was happy when he was in that "lovesick world". Then when he contrasts wanting to be happy about his life but also he's "drinking whiskey and loading bullets in my FN". The high pitched voice shows up when saying it's not the parents or friends fault and it's like he wants to live for them. So yeah just a theory sorry for taking your time.
