I got this done yesterday for post-Covid. My upper back pain is gone from the pneumonia for the first time since getting sick 12 months ago. I'm sore mainly in my throat and neck, I feel a bit bruised. Needed a breathing treatment when waking up. I've been coughing up brown and pink stuff, but it feels better. Overall very worth it, this pneumonia has been taking its toll. I developed pulmonary fibrosis/ILD from Covid 😕

No, this procedure won't help for Asthma sufferers, and is not performed often. It is used to treat a rare condition called "pulmonary alveolar proteinosis", or in certain cases to examine and diagnose certain lung diseases.

@@annemarieshortall5015 I'm an Annmarie and the BEST info I found on lavage was youtube channel called supervasi. You'll love that Dr. Sadly though in India and they treat for everything there. Copd, asthma even covid with great results. Im in Vegas and all they offer is a lung transplant Which no, I'd rather this lavage. Well, I'm running out of time. Its an AWFUL way to die. I have to have breathing treatment too as soon as I awake and many times throughout the day. I'm ordering some breathing exerciser, & Mullein leaf tincture. Though the Mullein tea hasn't helped. Please let me know what state or city you're in that does Lavage. My Dr.has never done it, won't do it, only a transplant where he'll make big bucks but its not what I want. It’s a very rare procedure that is only routinely done for the equally rare disease, pulmonary alveolar proteinosis.

Insurance covers it when medically necessary. It's also used post-Covid, persistent pneumonia, and COPD exasperations. Probably other lung diseases that cause inflammation and excess mucus too. I have pulmonary fibrosis post-Covid.

I just had this done today. I’ve had chronic bronchitis since having Covid 2 times. I also had a nodule in my lung, scarring, a lot of mucus, and air entrapment. It was about 10000. But I’ve been sick for a long and also have asthma. I live in FL.

They'd have to wear extra PPE with active cases. I'm a Covid long hauler (almost 12 months since infection now), and I just got this done because of my persistent pneumonia that shows up on my CTs. I'm always very short of breath and keep getting secondary lung infections like bronchitis since having Covid in August of 2020. It's amazing, it relieved a lot of the chest pain and pressure I've been having, and much easier to cough up the gunk in my lungs. One nurse said all their bronchoscope/lavages that day were in post-Covid patients.

+Hon Wong It is unlikely that it would help the asthmatic response. Most asthma is not caused by debris in the lungs.
