LUNG OVERCOAT - Past Lives (1983) - 2023 Remaster - Texas Darkwave

Lung Overcoat were a post-punk band from San Antonio, Texas. The roots of the group formed in 1981 under the name Platform of Youth. By '83 they changed their name and released a 7" single Internal Silence/Past Lives on their own Scolex label. In the mid '80s they released the Climbing Up the Hill EP and a couple of compilation tracks. After several lineup changes they called it quits in 1987. This video was directed by Rudy Canedo in 1984 for his cable TV public access show "Any Man, Any Band".

Why was I not told about these guys back in the day?! I do not recall reading about them in Melody Maker or even in any clubs. I saw a vast array of up and coming bands back then but better late than never I guess.

The algorithm has blessed me. I have to say, this is an excellent remaster for an early 80s analog recording. Even the ride came out clear and distinct. Also love the guitar playing a major melody over a minor key.

Is there a chance of a vinyl repress of their 7" and 12"? May be on the label Dark Entries or Minimal Wave ... anyway , great music and nice discovery for me tonight . Thank you from south France .
