really curious, what software you use for mixing/playing live?

MPD 226 going into Ableton where I trigger multiple clips on the fly and improvise anything in between the intro and outro of my set. I do this to keeps things new and fresh which in return feeds into my energy/excitement because I’m consistently discovering new ideas on the spot. So if you ever noticed a sudden burst of energy, it’s most likely a moment of me reacting to a mix/transition I never tried before and getting all excited about it lol.

I enjoy some of his music quite a bit, but I hope saying my honest thoughts doesn't bring out the pitchforks. I don't like the performance. Dj's used to make a dance out of their performance interfacing with their equipment, whilst Lunice and many others like Flying Lotus, Skrillex, Diplo, etc...are basically producers dancing to their productions with very little improvisational input. I know their is a looseness to the content by choosing different clip arrangements through ableton, but it still is lacking as a performance in my opinion. The music is wonderful though, and the dancing is quite good as well lol. Prefer a performance more along the lines of someone like Hifana than this though, because they are interfacing with the music and equipment more and taking more risks and generally being more musical. I would like to stress that I think Lunice's music is amazing and I listened to the TNGHT ep over and over when it came out and I also appreciated the scene him and Sixtoo and Jacque created back in the early 2010's in Montreal. I can see that this type of performance has value and works nicely with the energy and vibe/setting of clubs and dance venues. My opinion probably has more to do with my personal habits of being a hermit, only listening to music at home,etc...as opposed to listeners who are immersed in club culture. Within that subset, I would actually say Lunice and Flylo are my favorites, so please don't interpret my criticism the wrong way. Peace

They do. He’s not DJ’ing the “mainstream “way. It’s using samples with a software and a most probably pre-planned set, but is still very much legitimate and a live performance. You’d only understand if you tried it yourself or watched somebody do it in person. It’s different, but not necessarily easier. It’s closer to production than traditional DJ’ing.
