The Kenya Government should hire this gentleman to run a school on languages of Kenya .Language teaches culture and people from other tribes will then be able to understand each other and realise that in Kenya the more we think we are different the more we are the same . He is such a dedicated teacher . It cannot be cheap funding a programme like this yet he just goes on teaching probably for not much return other than the pleasure he gets from seeing other learn and improve.

Yes I absolutely agree, in other countries in the world, for example my country Hungary, they should teach some Gypsy language and culture to every kid, and racism would vanish completely in less than ten years. But governments like to suppress minorities systematically because diversity doesn't meet the demands of the global economic powerhouse.

This is so helpful! In Mabaan sub-Luo tribe, counting is numbers has grammar as wel. For example; number 1 is Cyal but when you describe something, let's say like One Luo, we say Luo a cyel. But other than that , here is how my counting is. 1. Cyel 2. Yew. 3 doog. 4 ŋaan. Or nguan. 5. D،ɔɔyi. 6. Wicyel.7 wicyeew. 8 wicdoog. 9. Wïcŋaan. 10 ịngyaakɛn. Means two handa. 2 hands are equal to 10. Thank you very much. Brother Brother Luo Sudan or S Sudan Blue Nile River Bordering Ethiopia

The Luo are in Uganda among the Acholi, Langi and Jopadhola tribes. They only vary slightly in accent but generally use the same words. A Kenyan Jaluo can easily hold a prolonged conversation with a Ugandan Acholi. They will understand each other very well despite slight inconsequential differences.

@SGOA321783 жыл бұрын
Yes, sir. You are doing a good job promoting the language spoken by us southern luos whose native territory straddles the eastern shores of Lake Victoria in Kenya and Tanzania. But sir, the language is called DHOLUO. And not LUO. Huge difference, its like calling French language France. And lastly, there are several luo tongues, dholuo being just one of them. In Uganda, the acholis and lango call their language lep luo that is to literally say "tongue of luo" as opposed to us calling it dholuo which transliterates to "mouth of luo". Your daughter is a very able assistant and kudos to her. Erokamano ahinya, itimo maber jadhot.
