Kim?? Lil Kim
@Msboochie22 ай бұрын
Lil’ Kim? I never heard of one. Well, I suppose if there's a course on Biggie it would have to include the artists he created. He wrote her songs, along with teaching her to deliver accompanied with the refer tracks where he is rapping the songs for her, he came up with video treatments, and even modeled her look after the Jamaican dancehall girls. Creating an artist like Lil’ Kim was genius for his own career. She legitimized his player image. I could see that. Biggie’s marketing schemed were top tier, especially for rap at that time. I could only imagine what he would have come up with, had he lived longer.

They’re kind of bench marks as far as his music. You can tell when a fan picked up Lupe by which album they mention. They’re all great but the spacing just shows how long Lupe’s been at it. Like the difference in Lil Wayne between Tha Carter II and Tha Carter III. If you know you know.
@topbackpodcast26152 ай бұрын
@@khrashingphantom9632 Strange comparison but I know what you mean. Lupe Fiasco from Food & Liquor is completely different from the Lupe we see from Tetsuo & Youth, or even the Samurai version we have now. Thats almost 20 years of evolution and of Lupe sharpening his skills. Tha Carter 2 and 3 Lil Wayne was also very drastic, but only 3 years apart from each other. Honestly when I hear those albums back to back it almost feels like a completely different artist. The way he rhymes was different, and also his voice was almost completely different. The transformation was remarkable. Lupe didn't transform his style like Wayne did, but in my opinion he mastered his style.

I think it was a good call. It shows discernment on Chill’s part as a business partner (even though he might not have known the full context of Samurai), and the camaraderie and respect they have for each other. The bare fact that Lu did DMIZ just for Chill, and then Chill came back and said “Yea let’s do Samurai!” That’s real reciprocity right there. Love that. We all need friends like that.
I’ve always loved Lupe but as I’ve grown older I go back and listen to albums as a adult and I’m even more blown away. There is so much deep stuff going on in his music you literally can miss so much of it if you’re not truly invested. He might actually be the best Technical MC
