Already the show goes on all night 'Til the morning we dream so long Anybody ever wonder When they would see the sun up Just remember when you come up The show goes on! Have you ever had the feeling That you was being had Don't that shit that make you mad They treat you like a slave With chains all on your soul And put whips up on your back They be lying through they teeth Hope you slip up off your path I don't switch up I just laugh Put my kicks up on they desk Unaffected by their threats Then get busy on they ass See that's how that Chi-Town made me That's how my daddy raised me That glittering may not be gold Don't let nobody play me If you are my homeboy You never have to pay me Go on and put your hands up When times is hard you stand up L-U-P the man 'Cause the brand That the fans trust So even if they ban us They'll never slow my plans up! [2x] Alright Already the show goes on all night 'Til the morning we dream so long Anybody ever wonder When they would see the sun up Just remember when you come up The show goes on! One in the air for the people ain't here Two in the air for the father that's there Three in the air for the kids in the ghetto Four for the kids that don't wanna be there None for the niggas tryna to hold them back Five in the air for the teacher not scared To tell those kids that's living in the ghetto That the niggas holding back that the world is theirs! Yeah, yeah, the world is yours I was once that little boy Terrified of the world Now I'm on a world tour I would give up everything Even start a world war For these ghetto girls and boys I'm rapping 'round the world for! Africa to New York Haiti then I detour Oakland out to Auckland Gaza Strip to Detroit Say hip-hop only destroy Tell 'em look at me, boy! I hope your son don't have a gun And never be a D-boy So no matter what you've been through No matter what you're into No matter what you see When you look outside your window Brown grass or green grass Picket fence or barbed wire Never ever put them down You just lift your arms higher Raise 'em 'til your arms tired Let 'em know you're here That you're struggling survivin' That you gon' persevere Yeah, ain't nobody leaving Nobody goin' home Even if they turn the lights out The show is goin' on! [2x] Alright Already the show goes on all night 'Til the morning we dream so long Anybody ever wonder When they would see the sun up Just remember when you come up The show goes on!

10 years ago, i was a sophomore in college in a small town, every night after finishing study in library, on the way back to domitory i was always listeining this song. as long as i put my earpods on and the shows goes on starts i just felt i was KING of world! Back in days it was impossible to imagine that 10 years later i m listening it again sitting in my room in another country far from family and old friends. likewise i will never know what my life will be like in another 10 years.

Listened to this song and the song 'The show must go on' For wrrks on ends and also aplogising to him i will be a better person and guess what last Friday he came iver cooked dinner for me and slept the night! If i keep been good this weekend he might just move back completely again! He said! He truelly wants to live with me forever! And it is onky me that is stopping that juat like the few times i allowed my self get the best of me and men i loved walked out the door! And never came back! So for the love of God hope this one stays with me! I just need to control my bloody emotions!!😬🙄😒

He never vanished. The world just stopped listening. Last year he dropped one of his best albums. It has great depth, an outstanding theme, and has good production. Lupe is still developing and incorporating in his music some of the most thought provoking concepts and ideas. He is truly a pioneer. In the last album Drogas Waves, the theme is 3 parallel themes in 1. AND he develops the idea that black people and minorities deserve to have legends/mythological stories where they are the central protagonists and through these new legends/stories, these innocent victims of oppression (slaves and refugees) whose lives were taken, can be given the heroic and generally more positive narratives they truly deserve and with such, immortalized as greater-than-life heros. Ok but why do this? What is the purpose? What can a group of people gain from fictional stories? Can a history full of oppression and death for your people, full of bad winning over good innocent members of your race ...can this kind of history be a stigma for your people? I could go on and on! This is the kind of idea that one could do his graduate thesis on! What rapper is exploring such concepts/ideas in their music? Ill wait. Dont just give me a name. Give a summary of another example. No, he didnt vanish when the world needed him. People just stopped listening and caring. People just completely stopped holding morals and principles above money and fame.

Darrell Myers Yeah your comment was removed because of the sheer annoyance it provided me. I don't care about what your opinion is, there's a reason musicians are called artists and this is a prime example of what art should be. Something that sends a message and resonates deep inside of you. The fact that you feel the need to try and call this anything but art is annoying, and uncalled for. Nobody asked for your negativity son.

I was locked up in a maximum security prison in Joliet called Statesville, right outside of Chicago. All I had was a Walkman and this song on a cassette tape. I would listen to this song every day, looking out of my little cell window at all the barb wire and brown grass. the song would cut off halfway through so I would rewind it over, and over. Until one of the older guys told me you can flip the tape and it has another side to it. I would listen to this song and dream of everything I was going to do when I got out. This song has got me through times I thought were impossible. Now I’m glad to say I have accomplished everything I dreamed of and much more! It’s crazy how you learn to appreciate the little things in life that you never noticed before. Much love! No more ramen noodles or locked doors!

This is my go to song for celebrating a very significant milestone for me. After struggling for almost 5 yrs I am on the brink of making my childhood dream come true. I'm 31 so you can imagine how long I've wanted this, their were time when I was about to give up but I had a great group of family and friends supporting me. I played this song today and realizing I'm can do it now made cry. Thanks Lupe for putting out such a important song to me.

Just remember that if people bully you that means they must see potential in you that they want to stop , I grew up in the hood and was bullied for not staying up to trend because I was poor but my grades were all I had , and now I'm 17 a early graduate , and I have a scholarship to go to college for law .
