Hats off to you mate! I catch bass on shingle beaches in the surf but to land them I just bring them in on the wave and it dumps them on the shingle. I then grab the trace and slide up them the beach to safety. I weigh them, photograph and put them straight back.4lb to 7lb are extremely strong to hold and photograph! No way i could stand on rocks to land one.. Very well done.

Great fishing as ever. I've been fishing rougher seas of late here in Cornwall and been doing well. Cheers, Grant
@lurefishingfromtheshore-gr82702 жыл бұрын
Im generally using 20lb braid which I find casts well. The leader always depends on the mark. I keep a pack of leaders that I can easily switch over with a loop knot to a swivel. I use 20/25lb in lighter conditions, and in big swells and bringing over exposed rocks 30-40lb at times more

Thanks John, I dont mean it to be extreme! I just fished in Portugal like this for the last 25 years and it just how Ive always fished, perhaps coming from surfing. Im not sure how the bass fishing is in Swanage as I dont fish the UK but I would be using lighter smaller lures like the 15g tweak bait which is 7cm. Hi there. I have bought one of your lures and am going to try it in devon and cornwall. Have you found they only work in rough weather ? Is it ok to use a 1oz ball weight with my 15g for more distance with a 3 foot trace or would this ruin the surface action? regards matt
@lurefishingfromtheshore-gr82704 жыл бұрын
I don’t think that setup would work at all well. If you have 2 separate elements to cast it will also ruin the cast not only the action. Much better would be to use a 50g Enticer Tweak Bait or Enticer Minnow which will cast much further and can be worked better! We have airbrushed designs coming in 6 weeks and the mullet is very effective in calmer waters. Generally when it’s calmer I use the 15g mini candle and Enticer Tweak bait for sea bass and other species

Great video, i was fishing the bottom of the West coast a couple of weeks ago. No fish landed but a couple of follows and one lost fish. I spent most of the time exploring and looking for good marks for future trips. I notice in most of your videos you seem to use the bare lure without any skin swaps. Is this specifically for bass or is this just your personal preference?
@lurefishingfromtheshore-gr82705 жыл бұрын
thanks! I do sometimes use skins for bass and had some good catches on the relief skin scale, but white is a good all round colour! Got some air brushed designs coming later in the year!

Some clonkers there; you take some risks for those fish though! With the speed of your retrieve those lures must be almost bouncing over the surface? Well done though, some awesome fishing.

thanks! Ive fished this way for over 25 years and try to take as many precautions as poss! not really fast retrieve, medium I would say, slower on sub surface. I use fast sometimes for big pelagics like Tuna skipping!

Samson lures are long casting lures. Many are for the surface walking dog and some are sub surface, but all are sinking checkout www.samsonfishing.com

on less rocky areas i lost my 2 lure inside 30 minutes,how you are able to swim your lure without stuck it to rocks?
@lurefishingfromtheshore-gr82703 жыл бұрын
I virtually never lose samson lures over rocks even very shallow. By bringing rod tip up and tapping or increasing speed you can bring to surface over shallow areas. In general dont let lures drop deeper in shallow areas its not an advantage and you will lose lures. I also use the surface lures like bomb and Enticer, if they are retrieved on the surface you cant snag them on rocks

Stunning conditions, love a big swell. What reel are you using? I can't find anything that can deal with salt spray and still feel smooth. Cheers

Cool stuff man. What setup you using there? I was thinking of getting a heavy outfit for fishing the west of Scotland. Last time I was there I could have done with a heavier lure to get down to the Pollack in big tides. Cheers

Thanks! I like a rod at least over 10ft when spinning for bass to cast distance! Check out the sinking Samson Tweak baits for getting down, you can drop them down! cheers www.samsonfishing.com
