Lure Making GT Popper - Part 2

Secon part of the GT popper lure making tutorial covers, weighting of the lure. Sealing the wood, painting the base colour and the pattern. I'm showing the struggle with the epoxy coating and the solution to it. Finally at the end the mandatory swim test of the lure. Enjoy the video.

the problem with the resin arises when it is too cold I advise you to use a heating lamp or better heat the room to around 30°

It's 25°C in the room where I am applying epoxy, that should be more than enough, anyhow the new one is spotless each time, so problem solved 🙂

The problem with the epoxy is that it is too thin. Let it stand for a while until it starts to solidify, then you won't have these "holes". Sometimes it's also the fresh color. 😉

As I mentioned I waited until thick consistency, also heat it up before application, all the tricks from the book and still rubbish performance... So I rather spend an extra few bucks and have peace of mind 😊

Try sealing the paint with a water based polyurethane before you resin, works great! And you wont have these issues.

Thanks for the tip, but that would lengthen the process significantly, as I like to do many mid coats. Anyhow with the new epoxy I don't have any issues 😉

Hopefully will catch one day 🤞 it's a car body filler putty, I like it cause compared to SG + BK it sands much smoother 😉
