Had conditions like that, up here in Minnesota last yr. the first day after the rain. Water temp dropped a tad. Fish stayed, didn’t move at all. Sun popped out, and water temp came back up, and they moved shallow. Definitely was a learning experience, for me to remember. Anyway, love the tip Vids. Have learned a lot from you, over the yrs. wishing you, and the SMC household, good luck. It’s all about them DONKS!!!! 👊🏻

Great tips Scott. Rising water can be the hardest time to catch 'em. If there is good current and regular pool I like to find points that have a deeper side down current and throw a 1 oz weighted Carolina rig with a 2 foot leader rigged with a plastic craw dragging to the deeper eddy side. If they are there smacking it I sometime back off a crank that side with lipless crank baits this time of the year. Good luck and catch them bass!
@brianpatrick94653 жыл бұрын
Good stuff! Because of the current doubling, should translate into stained water. I’m liking the chatter with a big profile to move some water at a slower retrieve. Swim jig is always tied on, and I do like the crank bait options!

Last spring I got a chance to fish with a good buddy on his boat on the Susquehanna in PA. River was up 6’ from snow melt. We were fishing the normal stuff, current breaks, big rock piles, island eddies etc. well I noticed a fish bust in some flooded timber and saw some baitfish jump. We both immediately tied on chatterbaits and fished flooded timber the rest of the afternoon. Put 40 in the boat in 3 hours, all 2-4 lb fish. Catching smallmouth on a chatterbait and braid in flooded timber is pretty awesome

Maybe turn to the brown colors if that don't work( cause the rain kicks up the water and everything. Just work it faster than normal. I'm no professional put it works great for me

Scott asks: "What videos do you want to see in the future"? 1) Either during practice videos or as a stand alone, try a crazy lure after you've worked an area. Something that shouldn't work, like a top water, a spinner bait, a salt water lure or a big worm when you've been fishing crank bait conditions or situations. Something that goes against convention or logic. 2) Macoy breaks another hard drive, titled "Where'd Macoy Go"? or "Macoy Suddenly Disappeared". The thumbnail is a picture of you in a butchers apron covered in blood with a huge smile.😁 3) More stories around the dining room table, just as you did recently. 4) Show how the lure looks in the water as you work it or show the action moving your finger through the air, showing little/big/long/short hops, whatever you were doing as you worked the lure. Show the speed too. 5) More challenges with Hillary, make sure you show all the junk (snacks) she gets from the store before the trip, it's a crack up. 6) Billy gotta' bass then went swimming videos, also known as "See Billy Swim"😁 7) More mystery tackle box challenges, or have a tackle challenge with pre selected lures, you have to catch with each lure to win, I remember one you did with Hillary a long time ago. You could use sponsor's baits if you're not with mystery tackle box anymore.
