My best yak tournament last year was on Beaver. I finished 6th out of 40 something (a pretty good finish for me in my rookie year) . It was an overcast/partly cloudy hot August day. I caught em all pitching a shakeyhead around laydown trees.

Great topic. Never would have thought about the length of a cloudy stretch or how it can change your tactics. Thanks Man!

I know everyone says to fish a small jerkbait but how would you fish a bigger jerkbait right now do I just barely jerk it?
@S2pidMedia11 ай бұрын
I catch em on 5 inch jerk baits before the ice takes over. I just move it slowly and let it sit for 5-8 seconds. They'll will bite bigger baits, you'll just get less action, but usually the fish will be a bit nicer.

I agree that Live Scope needs to be removed from tournaments. Watching fishing tournaments with fisherman utilizing LV/FF fishing is boring looking at their screen or their hear end leaning over their FF Screen takes all of the fun out of watching fishing. I like pounding the banks or fishing ledges with side imaging. I like the imagination that is flowing when I cast into the brush or a ledge I spotted and dropping my lure off. Feeling my lure bounce or crawl along the bottom. If I wanted to watch Television I would have stayed at home. If you want to use live scope in preparation to a tournament only be able to Use the 1st day of Pre-fishing (@ the most). Your skill at using live scope can’t be as exciting as it was before live scope. I’m 76 years old and have have fished since I was 3 yrs old and Dad tied a rope around my waist in case I got too excited and joined the fish in the water. I understand it helps the Fisherman to better Understand a fishes reactions and characteristics. If you find that necessary, use it in practice, but not in tournament completion. The chiropractors of the World are loving it. But in a few years you are will not be fishing if you stay bent over that screen, you will be mounting it on to a lounge chair on the front deck of the boat ask your children to get the fish out of the water and off the hook for you, but that WOULD BE QUALITY TIME WITH YOUR FAMILY.
