They are pricey to run if things go wrong, so many gadgets so when things go wrong it’s expensive (unless you can do it yourself)

The checking with multimeter is a bit pointless since you have an option to display battery parameters in the hidden menu ( workshop ) where it displays the voltage when charging or not.

You press and hold the call button as well as the ok button at the same time, and then the workshop menu pops up (make sure the current display is on the mileage, also the ignition shouldn’t be on but the key should be turned one level to the right just before the ignition comes on)

Is it a rule that the big battery is for the engine starter or it depends on the location where it is placed weather umder the bonnet or in the boot? The bigger battery of my car (100 Amp) is located in the trunk.

I think they are all linked on a circuit so they all help the starter motor. There are a lot of gadgets on the Merc hence the batteries.

HI Lurgs , question pls , slightly off topic , on the revometer clock there is a red triangular shaped indicator light just below the number 3 ( the 12 o clock position ) it flashes and beeps maybe once a day . Note I do not have Distronic on my 2015 s class . Any idea what this error is trying to tell me? tis

Not sure I’m afraid, anything in red is a warning to get fixed. Best do some searching to try to figure out what it is. Good luck

In theory no car should be jump started as it can damage electrics and computers but we all do it anyway! Don’t let a Merc battery die completely as that can make the electronics go weird! Keep it nicely charge up
