I probably should have watched this BEFORE I went Neanderthal on the first rod and broke it. 😂. Thanks from Virginia USA.

that's actually really good. didn't know such thing existed. i would hate to drill holes to my wall. this would be great in the future. i think net curtains are good in the morning. what happens at night. do you have something else to cover up?
@LurgsHowToGuides2 жыл бұрын
At night just pull the real curtains, nets are only for the day. Yeh these tension rods are great. Very simple.😎

Thanks for sharing your video as I've just purchased a few tension rods. However the reviews on Dunelm mentioned the rod having a slight dip in the centre. Would you agree with this? Their suggestions were using a Tesa window hook to hold it up in the centre so the bottom of the nets are aligned. Any feedback please?
@LurgsHowToGuides2 жыл бұрын
If it’s a long width then yes it may dip, although as long as it’s the correct size then with net curtains there is no weight on it. If you use a central hook it’s going to ruin the net I think.

@@LurgsHowToGuides Thanks for replying. I wondered the same however the tension rods are the correct measurements. Here's hoping they'll be no centre dips!
@christinehallett31979 ай бұрын
mine dips in the centre just a little andits only a lightweight voile on it. But of course there is always the pull of gravity. I have to find something😊 to lift it just a fracyion in the middle.

You can buy bigger diameter rods which are stronger

My rod for the shower rail was working fine when I first put it up. After I took it down, I can no longer put it back up and I couldn't see why. After watching your video, it seems to have lost its springiness... but I'm not sure how as there are no visible parts missing.
@LurgsHowToGuides7 ай бұрын
Oh, maybe unscrew and screw to see if it catches the spring again inside. They are normally very reliable

Try living in Germany, it is a nightmare over here for me. Nets? They dont use them as they were only used years ago and are "old fashioned", underlay for carpets? even the guy at my local large diy shop asked my why on earth I want underlay for a carpet and what actually is it, undercoat when ready to gloss? Half of them never heard of such a thing. Skirting boards that look nice? Not here, stick plastic on the wall and then cut pieces of the floors carpet and slide them into the plastic at about a skirting board height and thats your skirting board. Curtains? Rarely have them, its all blinds or half nets with nothing and on the outside big shutters that come down and black rooms out if you want privacy. Even when you move house or flat here, you have to take the entire kitchen out, sink, cupboards everything until the kitchen is a bare room, if you mve in to somewhere, you have to buy an entire new kitchen. Anyway thats me vented out for the day, sorry it had to be here lol Goods video, look forward to finally finding nets somewhere here and to get them and the curtains up!
@LurgsHowToGuides2 жыл бұрын
They probably do seem old fashioned but you can buy modern designs now. I like them for privacy in the day else everyone can see in your windows!
@jessebella93222 жыл бұрын
@@LurgsHowToGuides Exactly! It took me months to convince my German wife that nets are the way to go. I can't stand having nothing on the windows or even those little half-nets barely covering anything, you can literally see straight through people's houses, see them watching tele, everything with no nets up lol. Nah not for me, nice set of nets up and good ole curtains for night time. Anyway good video and all the best o/
