How to Disconnect a Washing Machine for Recycling or Moving.
In this video I will show you how to uninstall a Washing Machine (disconnect a front loading washing machine) for either recycling or maybe you are moving a Washing Machine to a new property, or maybe you are making way so that you can install a new washing machine.
To remove a washing machine is a fairly easy job which needs a bit of brute strength.
This is a cold water feed Washing Machine I am uninstalling, some older washing machines may also have a Hot Water feed, if this is the case just turn this off and disconnect as well.
If you are moving a washing machine to a new property then ideally you would re-install the washing machine transportation bolts but who keeps these? These basically stop the Drum from moving around too much when you are transporting it, just be careful. If you are taking it to the recycling depot then it doesn't matter.
Many companies will charge for disconnecting a Washing Machine and removing so why not Save yourself MONEY. Maybe a Scrap Metal Dealer will even take it away for FREE.
After disconnecting the drainage hose from under the sink (if it's this type) it's worth putting an end cap on this to prevent any possible leaks, else just twist it so it points upwards.

What yellow clips? Ideally you’d put the transportation bolts in but who keeps them! Just don’t bash it around too much and it should be fine

I can’t see the blue switch mine is red will it be red sometimes

Maybe someone plumbed it in with the wrong colour lever? If that’s the only one then it’s bound to be a cold feed but you won’t know unless you run a cycle and feel the pipe to see if it’s hot or cold

Yes but the red lever will shut off just that feed. Turn that 90 degrees then unscrew the pipe, but do it slowly then you will know if there is water pressure as it will leak if it hadn’t turned it off. Should be ok but best to know you can turn it off at mains stopcock but that will stop water for whole property probably

There should definitely be a cut off valve or switch for the incoming mains cold water feed. Or maybe it’s not been plumbed that way. You can isolate at Main stopcock but be careful when you put it back on. If not confident how it works then get a plumber round. Good luck
